5 Nature & Parks in Positano That You Shouldn't Miss

October 23, 2021 Christa Meece

Once a vital part of a mighty sea power, Positano is today a sophisticated resort on the central Amalfi Coast. Moorish-style architecture rises up steep slopes that gaze out on the Sirenuse Islands. Smart boutiques, selling fashions for visitors to display on Grand Beach, abound in the village. And it’s a great base for exploring the area—you can easily travel by boat to Capri, Ischia and the Grotta dello Smeraldo cave.

Fornillo

This stretch of coastline has often been described as the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean. One after another, green and rocky mountains plunge dramatically into the Mediterranean blue sea. The famous Amalfi Coast road clings to the mountainsides revealing a succession of picture book views each seemingly more stunning than the one before. Not so many years ago much of this coast was only accessible by boat. Now it is a fashionable resort area which retains the charm of past times.

Very nice beach where u can rent chairs and umbrella for a reasonable price. There are 3 or 4 sections, all the same price and they have a casual restaurant where u can have lunch if u want. It’s not a sandy beach so bring water shoes as those pebbles get hot in the sun.

We didn’t have the luxury of a pool at our accommodation in Positano but this place more than made up for it. The free shuttle boat was a fantastic start to the day with amazing views of Positano as you leave the port. We had pre-booked online so check-in was super quick and we were shown to 2 beds and an umbrella. The music, atmosphere and food all created the perfect day. It’s chilled out but good vibes, a good crowd and delicious food and drinks! We only wish we’d found it sooner as we would’ve definitely returned!

We literally visited here every day of our trip. The beach itself is usually crowded but not enough to keep you away, ever. It is a rocky sandy beach, so water shoes are advised, and the sand gets super hot. So many restaurants here and bars, shops, art, ice cream, stray cats that need to be fed (we fed them every day), the church, more shops, etc. Never got tired of it. The stairs to get there and back were quite the workout, however. Lol.
