It is the second most populated town of the province after Taranto, and has a population (2016) of 49,086. We found wine tasting at Locorotondo, food at Alberobello, and vineyards galore. A lovely area to eat if you can get it freshly prepared. Be warned that some of the region has Italian type fast food like pasta that is pre made and then microwaved. Yuk!
