We parked in the car park of the Oulart HIll 1798 Battlefield hub and took the path to Tulach a' tSolais, the monument to 1798" in it's particular context of the European Enlightenment" (T.K. Whittaker). It was a soft day for October and we approached the monument through a stand of deciduous trees. We entered the monument and took in the atmosphere. A pensive, mysterious space with plenty of room for reflection on what the 1798 rising meant to those who participated and their descendants. There are three separate walks from the hub car park in beautiful surroundings. We didn't have time to fully explore the area but hope to return to do so in the near future. A wonderful experience.
