Owners have spent the last few years improving, renovating and caring for the SI Course so that it has now become an area favorite for many. In high season, you should call early for tee times. It is not a good course to walk but carts will appreciated on the hills and washes and you will enjoy a tough but workable course. Staff is great! Don’t forget the gift shop or a beer at The Coyote Grill after your play- great food and always great stories around the bar!!

I am a Snowbird, living here in the winter months and a few weeks in July-August during the Monsoon season! Quail Creek is in a great location 15 miles south of Tucson. It is at about 2700 ft elevation and is located near the Santa Rita mountains. The climate is pretty ideal. It is considerably cooler than the hotter Phoenix and Yuma AZ areas. The months of July and August have many cooler summer days thanks to the Monsoon storms. This is a gated community for Seniors over 55. However both the golf course and the restaurant are open to the public. They have three nine hole courses, all of which are quite good. The restaurant has recently been expanded and has had a few start up issues, which are being addressed. For residents the gated community has an around the clock security force which provides monitoring of homes when snowbirds are away! There are tennis courts, pickle ball courts, outdoor swimming pools and an exercise facility. A large Clubhouse with a ballroom has frequent entertainment. Other facilities are being planned. A very active very upscale adult community!

Being new to the area and not having picked up a club in over seven years, I knew that I’d need to find a course that was very forgiving. I asked one of my new neighbors which course that he would recommend that would be a little more forgiving and he told me about Torres Blancas and I’m glad that he did. Everyone at Torres Blancas was incredibly nice and they were super helpful in the pro shop. Once I got out on the course, I really liked the course layout and the course was in great condition. From the fairways to the greens, all the grass was super nice and lush. I didn’t see any bad conditions and as long as you stay in the fairway or close to it in my case, you’re going to be in pretty good shape. There are a couple of tighter holes, but for the most part at errant shot won’t be OB and that’s exactly what I was looking for! From a scenery standpoint, you can see the Santa Rita mountains from almost every hole and “Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore!” I can really see coming back here for years to come with the great golf and also the Abrego Grill for a little 19th hole beverage when the round is done!
