Omega Institute

Come for one of the many workshops or for a personal R&R stay. Omega is a soul-satisfying place with beautiful grounds and a peaceful atmosphere. Accommodations range in price from basic camping to deluxe eco-friendly rooms. Most people stay in the dorms which are private (small) rooms with shared bathrooms. The campus is hilly but they have golf carts that help people with mobility issues navigate the grounds. I have been going every year for over ten years and always have a wonderful time.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery

~Our family and friends, a group of (25), recently had the privilege of embarking on a Private Two-Hour Walking Tour of the beautiful “Sleepy Hollow Cemetery” located in the legendary town of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. ~Combining the best attributes of both the Daylight Walking Tour & Evening Lantern Tour, our tour guide, Christina, guided us through an intricate maze of paths, upon which we admired the stunning architecture of mausoleums and vaults, the magnificent statuary, and artisanal tombstones. Christina was extremely informative, captivating, enthusiastic and humorous. ~We witnessed a beautiful sunset, walked alongside deer and wildlife, and glimpsed the majestic beauty and serenity of this extraordinary place. Christina was truly exceptional in every respect. ~The customized tour was specifically tailored to reflect the interests of our guest of honor and highlighted many notable figures laid to rest in this peaceful place. Among those visited were Washington Irving, author of the infamous “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and William Rockefeller. A noteworthy attraction, replete with huge vintage brass key to gain entry, was the viewing of “the Receiving Vault”, especially noteworthy to Dark Shadows fans. ~The Tour was simply exceptional!

Marist College

Beautiful campus on the Hudson River. I visited with my daughter as she is a senior in high school. Our tour guide was excellent and gave us a complete tour of the campus even though we could not enter any of the buildings. The campus is laid out well with pathways and lots of well maintained greenery. The campus is right off Rt 9 so there is some traffic noise but it's not disturbing at all. Marist has a great academic program and all the staff and students that we met were helpful, cordial and nice to deal with during our short stay. I would highly recommend a visit to Marist College for folks that are in the area or if you daughter or son has any interest in attending this school.
