5 Cultural Tours in Mahe Island That You Shouldn't Miss

April 14, 2022 Natalie Tallman

The Seychelles largest and main island, Mahe is home to the capital of Victoria and about 70,000 people (almost 90% of the nation's total). Still, the island retains its idyllic beauty, with 3,000-foot mountains and scores of gorgeous beaches. Many plants, including the so-called Jellyfish Tree and several rare orchids, are unique to Mahe's shores. The Seychelles Natural History Museum, the Botanical Gardens and the Codevar Craft Centre, all in Victoria, are not to be missed.

I am a local born on Mahe island. I have worked in tourism industry Seychelles and Germany for almost 20 years. I have lived in Germany for 6 years and understand the German and European mentality quite well. I am very flexible with the process of my tour. I am funny and always have a lot of stories to tell. Very flexible private tour. We could stay as long as we wished in the places. Actually, some advice about what was about to come would be good, because we wanted to stay longer in all the places but we had no idea what to expect next. We had also a fantastic stop in a nice restaurant. Great food.

Very rude and unprofessional. The organiser Maria seems to be a drama queen, she kept on shouting at us and other guests on arrival at the pick up point. The pick up itself was 45 mins late than committed. While on the trip, they were short of snorkelling equipments and life jackets. The experience was a big let down considering it is an expensive tour. Also when we came back to the marina at Eden, there was some fight between the J'adore team and a local person claiming that he had not been paid by them for services rendered. Overall a day in paradise that was ruined by an unprofessional service.
