Wow, where to begin? I joined the week-long new year's retreat in Mexico without doing any research and thought I was heading into a "yoga" retreat that would be mostly about fitness. I was WRONG. And what I experienced was EVEN BETTER! Indescribably so. I am already ready to book it again for new year's next year. This was truly a transformative experience in totally unexpected ways. Tammy is a very special person, and her co-facilitator for this retreat, Dave, was as well. The space these two created for us was one of safety and joy! They led us through Hatha yoga and many other types of yoga and different modalities that I had never heard of or tried, all to incredible results. Leaving the retreat I felt an incredible amount of joy and release and ready to take on an amazing year. (Can't say I've ever felt that way after waking up hungover from a new year's eve spent out at the bars...) The group at the retreat was also great -- I know that I will see people that I met here again. Wonderful community and friends that could only be created in an atmosphere like this -- full of vulnerability, joy, pain, openness and love. I can't recommend enough!!!

This used to be someone's house, which was donated to the city, so big and has hiking trails in the back and concert venue. I wish they had a cafe to take a break and enjoy big trees, but I don't ask too much.. I think parking is free but limited (no admission fee). That's probably why they provide buses back and forth from WV college when there's a concert. Before you go, check their hour and if it's open cuz they have some private parties and events, and we can't get in, esp on weekends. Today I saw some photo shootings, wedding dress shots? A place to visit in Saratoga.

Sanborn Park

20191106 Sanborn Park, Saratoga, CA My husband and I hitched up the Carson and camped in 3 places over a week's time. Sanborn Park was our 3rd stop on 'the tour'. We were Greeted by Park Rangers at the gate, who were very helpful with clear guidance about the RV campsites. The Ranger’s advice and information over the following days was most useful, particularly about hiking trails. Beautiful park, great facilities. Clean bathrooms with showers, free to campers. The showers are separate, in their own security door enclosure in the bathroom buildings. My husband and I were able to shower together in the very spacious private shower rooms, which had hot and cold water valves, a bench and good controls. Hiking Trails and Views adjacent the RV camping area. Trail maps available at the trail head. Wild Turkeys, deer and beautiful large grassy areas. Clean and well maintained. Just 3m to The Village of Saratoga. Though narrow, the last mile of road (Sanborn Road) is in decent condition. We were towing an 18’ toyhauler and were able to navigate the road without trouble. Each RV space has it's own table and charcoal grill. The close proximity of spots made for some nice visiting with 'neighbours' and a pleasant community atmosphere. Children were able to ride their bikes and scooters in this slightly sloped, paved area. We shall return.
