5 Budget-friendly Things to do in Rancho Mirage That You Shouldn't Miss

April 24, 2022 Timmy Ribble

Located in the sunny Coachella Valley area of California, Rancho Mirage offers the perfect place to enjoy nearby Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Cathedral City, but it’s also a fabulous destination in its own right. With four courses in Rancho Mirage, not counting the surrounding areas, we guarantee you’ll find something you like. Like the late Bob Hope in days gone by, you’ll love teeing up among the palms! Rancho Las Palmas Country Club and Spa features three nine-hole courses designed by Ted Robinson. The Rancho Mirage Country Club has a PGA clubhouse, views of the San Jacinto Mountains as well as first-class driving ranges and practice facilities. Or put your clubs at the condo for the day and attend one of the many pro-golf tournaments in the area, including the ANA Inspiration. Rancho Mirage welcomes families in a big way! You and your children can explore the abundance of activities for all ages. Try the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert or Joshua Tree National Park. At the Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Gardens, get up close and personal with desert animals from North America and Africa of every shape and size. Book a tour or explore the grounds on your own time table. Ride a camel, see an eagle and pet a turtle.

Outside the library, there is a statue of a young man. It shows also a lot of rocks with colors. There are a lot of books, videos, computers and more. The librarians take good care. There is a painting of the governor and his wife. There are a lot of beautiful minerals. It even has a fish. I liked that library!

Children's Discovery Museum

An interactive museum with hands-on exhibits allows children to explore and learn.

Reviewed By NYTravelerBD - Larchmont, United States

We visited this wonderful children's museum with a group of children ranging in age from 4 to 8, and they all had a blast. The museum is highly interactive and does a great job of offering activities/exhibits that are geared to younger children as well as kids who are closer to 8 to 10. There isn't a whole lot to do for children in Palm Springs, so this made for a very nice day with our 6-year-old daughter.

Since it was pouring rain yesterday, we took advantage of seeing On The Basis of Sex, an outstanding movie about our Supreme Court's Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The theater provided wonderfully comfortable seats that recline (with foot rest to boot). Looking forward to other rainy days :>)
