Our hearts were pounding as the wedgetailed eagle skimmed past about a metre away....what a privilege to be that close to those majestic creatures...and a special Thank You to our lovely guide...so cool to be able to touch and pick up wings and claws in the interpretation centre and to meet some owls (my faves) on the loose. Highly recommend a visit, the learning, awe and wonder will be something we will carry in our hearts, so good to see a passionate team committed to saving our important apex predators.

Shot Tower

We visited the Shot Tower cafe yesterday for morning tea. The last time was 17 years ago. Scones were just as good as we remembered! Try the date scones...they are the best ........but they do have other food too. Lovely staff in cafe and Shot Tower shop. If weather is good, there is pretty garden to sit in.

SeaLink Bruny Island Ferry

SeaLink Bruny Island officially commenced services in Tasmania on 23 September 2018. SeaLink operates the MV Mirambeena and the MV Moongalba on this route from Kettering on Tasmanian mainland to Roberts Point on Bruny Island.

This was one of the best things I did while in Tasmania, if you are going to do some exploring you must get out and go see Bruny Island!! Rent a car and use this ferry to go do some touring around the island for TOP RATED food and exploration! The ferry alone was half the FUN!! Super quick, inexpensive and safe! Cannot beat this attraction for the price, with or without a car!!

Kingston Beach

Reviewed By 3BeachesTasmania - Eggs and Bacon Bay, Australia

This is a long beach which has a range of restaurants, pubs/bars & takeaway food to service a short or long visit. There is a small but good kids playground suited to a younger age group. Beach showers, public toilets & a drinking fountain. Definitely a good spot to frequent.
