Alma is a city in and the county seat of Buffalo County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 781 at the 2010 census. The city borders the Town of Alma (to its east), as well as the Town of Nelson (to its north), the Town of Belvidere (to its southeast), and Greenfield Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota (across the Mississippi River to its west). See authentic arms and armor from Romans, Dark Age Warriors, Vikings, Crusader Knights, and Renaissance "Knights in Shining Armor." Open from 1-4pm, Fridays and Saturdays year round and Sundays June through August.

Found the Castlerock Museum online as a top thing to do in Alma. My mom and I are not big history buffs but decided to check it out anyways. First off, the museum was very easy to find. While driving through main Street, signage let's you know it's just off of main street on the hill. We parked on the street outside the museum which was free. Once in the museum, you're greeted by their staff and you pay for your access into the museum ($6 each for adults). We also met John who was the excellent tour guide throughout the museum. Throughout this 2-story museum, you learn lots of history in weaponry, armour and battle techniques. In the downstairs exhibit, visitors are able to try on a knights chainmail uniform (perfect for photo-ops!). You can tell the tour guide, John is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history displayed in this museum. I would recommend this museum for history buffs or educational/school tours. We spent about 45 minutes to an hour there but could spend more or less time depending on how much you read.

Best place to view ships going through the lock. The viewing deck allows one to watch the whole process from the water level being raised or lowered and moving the barge or boat in/out. Parking lot is located right off of Main Street. There is a set of stairs and bridge that you need to walk up and over to get to the observation deck. Trains pass under bridge. We watched a huge barge move through the lock. It was actually three barges wide by four barges long in addition to the tow boat. It had so many barges that it had to through the lock in two sets. The first half were pushed in, the water level raised and then they were pulled out. The waters was lowered and the second half with the tow boat move in. After the second half was raised, the barges were lashed together again. The process took a little over a hour and was very interesting to watch.

Wine tasting room with an event center for small gatherings. We are considered an Estate Winery, meaning we grow our own grapes and make our wines from them. We do not buy grapes or wine from any other regions. Danzinger Vineyards won Winery of the Year from the Wisconsin Grape Growers Association in 2013.
