Waitapu Estate Vineyard

We are a boutique vineyard in the north of New Zealand. We grow a small range of quality wines which are available for tasting from our cellar door. We are at an elevated sight with good views of the 90 mile beach.

We were warmly welcomed on a Saturday to this lovely estate, with a stunning view of the coast and beautiful decor. The host was extremely engaging, friendly, and knowledgable, and delivered an enjoyable experience. Delicious wines from their estate vines and also a very environmentally aware and wildlife friendly location. We even bought a bottle to take travelling with us! Would most definitely recommend the trip out.

If you are in the area don’t pass this place by. If you prefer the personal touch and don’t like too many people around this is the place. This was our favourite venue. No food here but we had wine tasting by the owner who entertained while he poured. Very quietly funny he offered a great selection of wines with descriptions of the taste and how it was processed. I don’t drink and the host kindly offered water and we were invited to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet whilst we drank. It’s a little spot of paradise and we were all so glad we found it. Highly recommend. The wine must be good too. We left with 4 bottles!

Paroa Bay Winery- Villa Accommodation.

There are few places in the world where you get the sense of land emerging from the ocean — where you can trace the contours of the land down below the waterline, where sky, land and sea are continuous — and New Zealand’s Paroa Bay Winery and Estate is one of these places. Featuring three superb villas, a boutique vineyard, and our coastal-inspired restaurant Sage — we ensure every aspect of luxury is plentifully provided for. The first of our luxury villas, Tarāpunga, is named after the local seabirds, and nests high above the bay. With floor to ceiling windows and an infinity pool on an expansive outdoor entertaining area, Tarāpunga truly brings the incredible scenery to the fore. Our second villa, Weka, is a smaller but beautifully designed residence, and available for reservation concurrently with Tarāpunga. Our third villa, Vineyard Cottage, sits amongst the vines of our famed winery and enjoys views of the beautiful rolling green hills of both vineyard and native bush.

Last month I had the great fortune to stay at The Tarapunga villa at Paroa Bay winery. This is a luxurious accommodation, gorgeously furnished with stunning views of the Bay of islands from every corner of the house . The infinity pool invites you to jump in and stare at the view. The villa has a home cinema, tennis courts, a gym, Badminton, bicycles, Golf buggies which we used to admire the beautiful surrounding nature and manicured landscape of the winery and also to access the private beach. There is also an annexed villa that can accommodate another family or grown up kids. The place is perfect in every way(it even has, Sage, next door, the best restaurant in the area ). It’s a perfect Accommodation for a perfect holiday I had the time of my life. I highly recommend it.
