I gift there at 09.30 on a Friday morning and the car park was already filling up. The track is quite challenging due to the boulders and tree roots. There’s lots of places to take photos, and the view of the waterfall itself is spectacular. It took me 40 mins to walk there, and 45 to get back. Well worth the visit.

Absolutely beautiful! fun track downhill to the waterfall and viewing platform in the winter months or after heavy rainfall you definitely can get hit by the mist, even in summer with a small breeze you can feel the waterfall coming down. If you are driving here make sure you have petrol as there isn't any place to fuel up and no reception. I also highly recommend visiting the Mangapohue Natural Bridge as its about 40 mins from Waitomo but well worth the trip

Cool waterfall, which is easily viewable from several view points. The falls are really impressive from the first look out as the waterfall first emerges and is only a 10-min walk from the car park. It’s worth going down to the bottom if you can manage the steps (261 total).

On our way to Tauranga, we saw a sign stating that there was a waterfall. Watch for the green sign on the side of the road to see this beautiful waterfall. It’s a quick easy walk down a well worn path. Park along the side of the road.

Driving from Taupo to Napier, we saw a sign for a scenic outlook and I needed a break, so we pulled in, drove up the gravel road around a corner and found this gem. Totally unexpected, these are gorgeous falls. The only downside is that no one seems to maintain the area and there was a lot of trash.

only a short walk from the road, you will find yourself in a mistycal and magical forrest with an amazing view of the fall. Birds are all arround you, and they follow you! We liked it a lot, especially, as it got very warm with the sun, we were in the shady forrest to stay cool under the trees and still there was enough light to see the fall

Huka Falls is located close to Lake Taupo, New Zealand. Its about a 3 and a half hour drive from Auckland, heading south. The drive there itself is something else!! Beautiful scenic route, with mountain, farm and forest views. You will enjoy it. Keep in mind, New Zealand drives on the left side of the road!! Entrance to the falls is free, Nice hiking routes and also route for off road bicycles. The falls itself is stunning and the amazing breathtaking views around the area. Public restrooms available. Must see!! You can actually enjoy Lake Taupo as well in this area, so yeah, well worth the trip.

2km from the Waterways roundabout in Pauanui on the Hikuai Road. Easy 10min walk each way. Swimming hole is deep and rocks can be slippery, so for those confident in water. Can jump from the rocks. Pretty spot!

Truly in the middle of nowhere these falls were worth the walk through the bush. Even a wobbly little swing bridge! Loved that I was the only one there and looked like no one else had been in quite some time.
