My wife and I went on a 3 day tour to the Sahara. The trip was fantastic. Our guide Ali was very professional and took care of us the entire time. A highlight for me was camping out in the desert, what a surreal experience. I will be recommending this company and guide to family, friends and colleagues - it was an unforgettably amazing experience!!

Hassan IDALI, our guide, took us on a great walk from the village up the mountain. Hassan was extremely knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife making this a very good visit for all. Hassan was brilliant with the kids and got them a mule to ride on which they loved and I would highly recommend- my kids are 8 and 11 and were happy to ride instead of walk! The walk was not too challenging physically but a beautiful to experience the mountains

From Tunis, the road runs alongside a partially restored Roman aqueduct, reminding that Tunis, since ancient times, has been drinking spring water from the mountain of Zaghouan. Along the way, fans of archeology will appreciate the site of Oudna, a Punic city that has become Roman. The so-called “Laberii” villa with its thirty rooms on 2,300 m² deserves a special visit for its mosaics, an archaeological site well preserved includes an astonishing amphitheater that could once accommodate 20,000 spectators. Then we will visit the Andalusian medina of Zaghouan, to finish with Thuburbo Majus, an ancient city that experienced a decline in the middle of the third century before a brilliant renaissance in the fourth century, leading it to proclaim itself Respublica Felix Thuburbo Majus. The vandal invasion, in the middle of the fifth century, put an end to the prosperity of the city and brought it back to the rank of a town which soon after the Arab conquest was deserted.

The tour was amazing! We enjoyed the Medina in Tunis, walked around the market, had coffee in a traditional place and ate at a wonderful traditional place, recommended by the guide. Carthage was also exceptional with amazing roman ruins that we enjoyed and Sidi Bousaid was just magi. White houses with blue windows and particular decorations, friendly people, amazing coffee and stunning views of the city. Definitely recommended! The guide was very friendly, helpful and brought us to the nicest places. Don’t miss it!!

Are you ready for a Mediterranean dream? It starts with the hill of Sidi Bou Said- the white and blue village with the Arab- Andalusian style houses. The city with artistic spirit related to the holy man SIDI BOU SAID AL BEJI. Start your day with real energy bomb- the “zrir”- sweet mixture of nuts and sesame with honey, or Bomboloni. Then you walk up the hill to visit “Dar el Annabi” house built at the end of the 18th century, it is now a local museum, featuring the atmosphere of a Tunisian family. It offers the possibility to visitors to truly dive into the Tunisian daily life, arts, and traditions. Afterward, you carry to “Kawa al alia” on the highest point of this dream place. As you take a stroll through this village, you can admire the bougainvilleas flowers until you reach the Sidi Chabaan coffee shop with a panoramic view of the bay of Tunis. Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery with a cup of coffee or mint tea, sitting on straw mats with the locals and smoke a chicha.

Initially I've booked a night tour to the Sahara dessert with Depart Travels, however faith has led this trip to be cancelled due to some technical errors. Instead of turning me down, Aymen has asked me what are on my wish list and has tailor made a trip proposal all for me privately. It wasn't a regret going on this trip. Ive set my expectation to be an average standards, however with the help of Aymen and the friendly locals, who Aymen has arranged for me to meet, have made me experience one of the best adventure I've ever done. Aymen himself drove me and explained each cities and villages we went to. Even after the trip of the day has ended, unlike any other guides who will just abandon you at your hotel, Aymen has invited me out for a beer and to chill the nights. He is a really kind and knowledgable man. I have done everything I've wanted and perhaps more thanks to Depart Travels. I highly recommend people to this agency and especially a tour with Aymen himself. Ps: He is an exceptional driver, especially on the off road dunes of the desert.

This place is so serene, so beautiful, so worth a visit. I fell in love with this place the minute we arrived and I had the bombolini. You must try the donuts. The art pieces are really nice here, also. The flowers have a deep color hue. The white walls all over. It is just a must see location. If you have time spend a full day here. There is plenty to do and is not that far from Tunis.
