Follow the local expert in an engaging and informative walking tour with five food tastings that exceed your lunch needs. We teach you how to recognize real truffle condiments from artificially flavored ones and we provide a full understanding of the local culinary scene. The Piedmont region proudly offers a unique cuisine which combines farmer’s traditions with an aristocratic touch. Partake on a tasting of the most representative cheese of the region with breadsticks from an old-fashioned bakery. Truffle salami and truffle cheese prepare our mouth for a risotto served with freshly shaved black truffles and a glass of wine. Then a choice of traditional “antipasti” or egg pasta. For the bravest ones, the unparalleled beef tartare of Piedmont will be available for tasting with a glass of wine. End with a tasting of hazelnut and chocolate delicacies from a selected pastry shop with the best coffee in town. In summer, a gelato is everyone’s favorite.

The four of us booked this tour with Meet Piemonte. They sent us the addresses of the two wineries which we would have never found on our own and a list of things to see in the area. Gorgeous cellars, both owners where so personable and treated us like family. Lunch was a starter, ravioli and dessert, not a huge meal but enough to carry on until dinner and great pairing with the wines of the first winery. We had some time in between wineries so we went to one of the big benches they recommend us and we took photos and enjoy some sunshine. This region is stunning and we will come back.

The team of Albaway made it possible for me to do the tour even without a car AND even though no one else had booked for that day. And I can‘t thank them enough for that, since I really enjoyed it. I have to confess that this was my first ever wine tasting (I don’t drink wine that often, and I’m more into sweeter wine), and even if not being into wine too much, it was very interesting to listen to the different methods and how the different sorts of wine mature etc. Highly recommended! But even better was the truffle hunting. Being in nature, in those wonderful hazelnut and other forests, following the dog and its owner to find this special funghi, it was just so exciting and very informative! The truffle hunter and the guide Margherita are both so very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all questions with lots of patience! Do not miss the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!!! Thanks again to the Albaway team, the winery team and the lovely „truffle duo“ ????
