10 Tours in Paphos That You Shouldn't Miss

October 23, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Paphos, the capital of western Cyprus, has some serious historical clout. Site of the vast fourth-century BC Tombs of the Kings, set high on a cliff above the sparkling sea, as well as a dramatic Byzantine castle and fine mosaics, it's also known as the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. The population of 27,000 is swelled by a summer influx of beach-bound English, German and Scandinavian visitors. A beautiful old harbor awaits, while modern hotels and restaurants stretch along the promenade.

Everything about this experience was perfect! We did the full half day tour which included the Adonis waterfall, coral Bay, the turtle beach and free lunch with a drink included. All aspects went smoothly, Chris and his wife were so friendly and laid back and allowed us to enjoy each sight for the right amount of time. The tour also included pick up and drop off back to our hotel, which was a massive bonus. The quad bikes were in good condition and we were given some time to practice in the car park before taking to the road. I found the steering a bit heavy so Chris kindly offered to switch the quad from 4 wheel drive to 2 wheels to make it lighter, but I preferred to have my boyfriend drive so that I could take in the beautiful views across Paphos. It was a very kind gesture from Chris anyway. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Thank you!

Started out with a honey producer, then on to haloumi, next soutzoukos, monastery winery, lunch at a local taverna, and last but not least a local winery! Great way to spend the day. We had 4 guides for the 2 of us, every question was answered, lots of great information about local products and places to visit. Louisa and her staff are friendly and professional. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike, we've lived here for almost 3 years and never would have found these places. Look forward to another trip in a different region!

I found this last minute & we went on our last day. The tour guide picked us up from across the road of our hotel. The sea caves are beautiful with the ship wreck close by (be careful & watch your step, it’s uneven). The lagoon was absolutely beautiful. It was cloudy when we arrived but was told the water was 26 degrees centigrade. It’s very deep when you first get in but a short swim towards the shore & you’ll be able to stand up. You spend an hour in the lagoon & then another hour in Latchi harbour for something to eat & a browse. Baths of Aphrodite were nice but I think there’s a larger waterfall on the nature trail, but you won’t have enough time to see it as you only stop there for half an hour (be sure to try the ice cream at the shop!). The wine tasting was ok, they have a selection of whites, reds, rosés & liquors; you can buy some bottles if you like what you taste. Only reason I haven’t given this 5 stars is because the bus was tiny & uncomfortable for me as I’m 6’3”. The tour guide was knowledgeable & educated us on the trip. Beware; if you wish to stop off at a place other than where you got on...tell him first otherwise he will NOT be happy - he scalded us for not telling him. It was a lovely day & for €32, you really can’t moan - there are local excursions for just the Baths of Aphrodite for €30 alone. Recommended to all :)

Fantastic day out, the tour guide was so informative and told us information about the history of the island and info on each stop in between so the drive to each destination was not boring. It did not stick exactly to the itinerary but we did not mind as it was all so interesting and we still visited places we would have missed if we did not do the tour. Highly recommend.

The jeep ride was a bit too fast for my liking, especially on the winding mountain dirt roads. We enjoyed the natural reserves and the beautiful natural views though. It would have been nice to get more info on the places we were visiting, but maybe there wasn't much to them apart from the pretty views. The boat cruise was ok, lots of passangers, an hour to the Blue Lagoon, and hour there and an hour back. The Blue Lagoon itself was a bay full of other ships like ours, I thought it was going to be a little more quaint. Overall it was alright, always an experience and new sights seen.
