This tour is one of the most popular Mountain Bike tours in northern Iceland. You cycle in the evening on a mountain bike and start sightseeing immediately. On your way, you will stop by the “underground bakery” where the locals bake their well-known Geysir bread. You then continue past the first steam generator in Iceland and head to the old steam bath, the old bathing caves close to the fissure Cave of Grjótagjá, and after visiting the cave we go to the Mývatn Naturebaths for an hour of relaxing in the warm water and natural steam baths. After a nice soak, you get back on your mountain bike and head back. You can either bring your own swimsuit and towel, or you cna rent some at the Mývatn Nature Baths. The cycling adventure is on a gravel road for a large portion of the way. There are a couple of small hills, but it is generally an easy ride. Multiple stops will be taken, so you will have time for photos and to enjoy the scenery.

Inclusions: All taxes, fees and handling charges, Local guide, Professional guide, Use of bicycle, Use of helmet, Guaranteed to skip the long lines

Exclusions: Food and drinks, Hotel pickup and drop-off (if option not selected)

This was one of the best experiences of my life, seeing and hearing a whale so close was just a breathtaking moment that I will never forget. The crew was also very friendly and telling us a lot about the area and animals. They are also involved in research and name all the whales. They were offering masks and gloves and had separate boxes for single use and to-clean stuff so well done for covid prevention. Unforgettable experience that I would recommend to everyone.

Our main reason for coming to Iceland was to see northern lights so my daughter and I chose this tour with Jónas for just the two of us. He was absolutely amazing! We got to see the northern lights that we have been longing for for so long and he even treated us to homemade hot chocolate and very tasty donuts which was a nice touch. Jónas is a jack of all trades so he knows a lot about the area and can give you the science behind the lights. You can tell that he loves his country just based on how passionate he is and how excited he is to share it with visitors. He took professional pictures for us and allowed us to download them so that we could show them to our friends and family which is a fantastic perk since we could not get our cameras to work very well each time the lights showed up. We had done a similar northern lights tour in Reykjavik which had 15 people packed on a small bus where everything felt squished and rushed, but this trip was 10x better than that. You won’t be disappointed by having Jónas take you out to see the northern lights. He’s a wonderful person and treated us as guests unlike some of the bigger companies that just pack as many people as they can on a bus to get the most money. So book your next trip with Jónas and go see those northern lights as they are stunning!

We saw some lights and Armann was amazing. It seems many people on other tours weren’t so lucky but I think it was our guides local knowledge that nailed it for us. What’s more we had a running commentary about the old Gods and local history that was fascinating. I would do this tour again.
