An 8am start was the only negative of the day. I mean that. I had a great time. Alex knows his stuff, his people and Tasmania too! Not only did we avoid an accident, but every venue we visited we arrived before the rush or immediately after it finished, meaning we finished the trip pretty much bang on time. The food? To die for. The Devonshire tea was awesome, the seafood platter was HUGE but the highlight was, without doubt, the scallop pie. I’ve never had a better pie, let alone a scallop one. The wine, oh my gods the wine. As a red wine lover I thought I’d be a bit out of luck, but there was PLENTY of wines for even a savage like me. So, for your money you get history, personal anecdotes, great food and wine and a lovely day out. Just book the tour, you will not regret it.

On our full day Wine Tour we visit 5 of southern Tasmania’s best wine producers. You'll have the opportunity to meet some of the winemakers and taste a range of award winning, hand crafted, cool climate wines. Tastings may include world class sparkling wines, crisp cool climate white wines and velvety, seductive reds. During vintage you'll see grapes being processed and wines fermented, throughout the year you'll see grapes growing in the vineyard and wines maturing in barrel rooms. You may be lucky enough to try wine direct from the tanks or the barrels, depending on the time of the year and what the winemaker is working on that day. Expect a day packed full of wine tasting, tours, conversations and even some local cheeses thrown in for good measure. Please note detailed tour destinations are an example only. Sometimes we have to change the places we visit on our tours dependant on industry demands and availability. Rest assured - you'll always be going to the tastiest places!

My partner and I had the honour of learning and seeing Hobart with Kirk at Localing and I can't think of a better way to immerse yourself in this incredible place. Our guide had ENDLESS knowledge about every aspect of Tasmania's history including the natural history which we were able to apply to the jaw dropping places he took us. We stopped through a stunning Berry farm, 2 incredible hikes tailored to our ability and interests and were taken to our booking that Localing made for us at Agrarian Kitchen (which we also recommend highly), all in a day's work! And the knowledge our guide shared about our surroundings just whilst driving en route these places was hugely informative and engaging. Anyone who comes to Tassie quickly learns what an incredible state it is with a strong pulse and a Localing tour is the best way to immerse yourself in the gifts that Tassie has to offer. Thank you so much to Kirk and Localing crew.
