Douz (Arabic: دوز dūz) is a town in the Kebili Governorate in the south of Tunisia, known as the "gateway to the Sahara." By road it is located 31 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of Blidet, 125 kilometres (78 mi) southeast of Tozeur, and 475 kilometres (295 mi) south of the Tunisian capital of Tunis.

It is the only tour on the market allowing to visits all the most important oases in Tunisia: Ksar Ghilane, Chebika, Tozeur and Thamerza in only 3 days. During this tour you will see a lot of breathtaking landscapes to let you will feel the real taste of the Sahara desert. Itinerary includes visiting four oases (two mountain and two desert), three locations used in "Star Wars", three types of desert including erg , two salt lakes, cave houses, Atlas Mountains and even ksars. You will have the opportunity to ride a camel and / or quad on the dunes, swim in the lake in the middle of the desert and sleep in a tent. Accommodation includes one night in a 4 * hotel on the edge of the desert, and one night in tent in the oasis located 100 km inside Sahara.

I did a day trip from monastir to tunis, sidi bou said, port el kantaoui. Very prompt service, the driver was exactly the heure we said at hotel. Thank you very much munir, you drive very good and you take good carre of me and my daughter. I recomend this agency, they did exactly what we speak previosly on watap. Initially I've booked a night tour to the Sahara dessert with Depart Travels, however faith has led this trip to be cancelled due to some technical errors. Instead of turning me down, Aymen has asked me what are on my wish list and has tailor made a trip proposal all for me privately. It wasn't a regret going on this trip. Ive set my expectation to be an average standards, however with the help of Aymen and the friendly locals, who Aymen has arranged for me to meet, have made me experience one of the best adventure I've ever done. Aymen himself drove me and explained each cities and villages we went to. Even after the trip of the day has ended, unlike any other guides who will just abandon you at your hotel, Aymen has invited me out for a beer and to chill the nights. He is a really kind and knowledgable man. I have done everything I've wanted and perhaps more thanks to Depart Travels. I highly recommend people to this agency and especially a tour with Aymen himself. Ps: He is an exceptional driver, especially on the off road dunes of the desert.

It’s worth visiting at certain times. We went late afternoon which just happened to be the feeding time for the crocs. Before that, they were just lying still which was pretty boring, but when they get the food out there is a lot of activity
