10 Top-Rated Villas in Peloponnese

April 28, 2023 Jeremy Dunfee

The Peloponnese is a large peninsula on the southernmost part of mainland Greece. Its history dates back to the Bronze Age. Buses and rental cars provide the best options for seeing the region's sites, such as Mycenae's ancient theater, Sparta's Archaeological Museum and the ancient ruins of Mystras, Olympia, Mycenae, Corinth and Artemis Orthia. Held by the Turks and the Venetians until Greek independence in 1821, this center of ancient Greece is also justly famous for traditional Greek dancing.

My husband and I travelled for two weeks in Greece in May of 2016. I can honestly say this was the most memorable place we stayed. I say this because of Eleni herself. She greeted us so warmly and gave us a tour of our room. We had a great and cute interaction with her. When we left she ran after us to make sure we had a good stay. She gave us each a warm hug. I felt as if she were the most beautiful and wonderful grandma that I could ever have. I will always remember her. On a side note the room was wonderful - very clean with a nice view. Also, there was a small continental breakfast provided in the room we stayed at.

Apartments with a pool in a quiet location

Good apartments with a small and deep swimming pool. Close to good restaurants and beaches but you need a car as walking on the main road is not really pleasant. The owner is very nice. A delicious and varied breakfast is served to your room every morning (with eggs in different variations, fresh orange juice, cake, yoghurt with honey among other things).

Very lovely quiet holiday site

Reviewed By Gabi240510

Very lovely quiet holiday site, situated at 4 minutes' walk from the beach. Beautiful pool in luxurious garden with plenty of sun beds. Each house disposes of 3 lovely terraces, each with a table and 4 chairs, one of them always situated in either the sun or the shadow. The large upstair terrace offers a splendid view over the sea and, at night, at the illuminated castle. Houses and garden very clean and well entertained, houses with airco and all necessary facilities. Several barbecues at the disposal of guests in the garden. Mrs Houdis is very friendly and always ready to help. Houses ideal for single persons or couples but probably too small for bigger families. No inside sitting area other than a kitchen table with 4 chairs, which is largely compensated by the three nice terraces in the warm season but could be a problem in case of bad weather in the later autumn. Having a car will be of advantage for shopping, getting to the more distant beaches and for access to the many nice restaurants in the old picturesque centre and port area, although they can also be reached on foot. Free-of-charge parking spaces available at the site. A charming place to be recommended if you are not looking for a sophisticated palace but for an authentical welcoming place

Anastasios Olive Garden Apartments

Nice apartment in an olive garden, close to the sea

Reviewed By Diana B

The apartments were close to the sea, also to Petalidi, and they were located in a beautiful garden with olive trees, figs, banana trees. Two lovely ponies in an adjacent garden greeted us whenever they saw us. We found shops for groceries in Petalidi and Messini, after a short drive. The apartment was clean, but nobody came to clean it again or to empty the garbage bin in 5 days! The kitchen was not very well equipped (only two tea mugs for 3 people, only one teaspoon, etc.), but we managed. We appreciated the complimentary water, olive oil, coffee, sugar and sweets, just a small amount, but it was a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice, large and nicely tiled. There was not much space to move in the apartment, but we didn't stay much indoors. There was a table inside, in the kitchen, and one outside, on the patio, where we spent the evenings. All guests could use bicycles for free and there was a free laundry service, which we highly appreciated. The owner was kind, polite and discreet.

A place to relax!

Reviewed By CreteBlue

We stayed for just one day but it was really relaxed and enjoyable. Our house (Maia) was spacious, with a kitchen, living room and balcony. Nice double bed, warm and cosy decoration. The fireplace was amazing. The owner was hospitable and helpful. Would recommend this place if you want to chill out and just relax. Great tavernas nearby (by car) for eating. Ideal for couples.
