The attributes which best describe the new project of Phoenicia Hotels are uniqueness, privacy, comfort and elegance. Phoenicia Boutique Hotel, inaugurated in the summer of 2019, offers the best services and a great location which is situated near the beach. Although, our most important wish is to prove that romanian seaside is worth the return and deserves a place on the world tourism podium.
A tourist trag at a fake 5 star level!
Reviewed By alexhL133EUThis hotel claims to have 5 stars, a casino and advertises the accommodation as "Adults only". None of this has anything to do with reality. During our 7-day stay, the casino, if you can call it that, was never in operation. At breakfast, children and teenagers were regularly present. But these are the least of the problems. The hotel advertises that it has 3 restaurants "on site". This is simply a lie. The nearest restaurant is 200m away as the crow flies, about a 5 minute walk, passing numerous garbage dumps in the bushes in front of the hotel and the barracks of some hotel employees. Inside the hotel there is only a sparse breakfast at which even on all days the butter was missing. The answer of the waitress was that there is butter only on request. In addition to one type of toast, there was another type of roll next to it. The paper cups next to the coffee machine make further explanations unnecessary. Room service does not exist, although it is obligatory for receiving 5 stars in Romania, just like a restaurant. The reception is manned for a maximum of 30% of the day, if you are lucky and ring the bell, a receptionist illuminated by a smartphone emerges from a dark corner in the non-functional casino and makes herself comfortable at the reception. The level of the entire staff is not even suitable for a mountain lodge, although they have no problem raising their voice to the guest. On the second day at 18:00 a heavy cabinet door with mirror came loose and crashed next to me on the wall, the problem was fixed only the next morning. A clogged toilet was fixed at 24h at night, because according to the receptionist she is not allowed to let the handyman into the room when the guest is not in the room - I wonder what laws the cleaning lady breaks every day when she cleans. After waiting half an hour for the handyman in the room, we went to the table where we had reserved. In the description of our room on Booking, there was supposed to be a fireplace, as well as a coffee maker and a microwave. None of this was in the two rooms we occupied. ...when asked, we were directed to the coffee maker in the lounge. As for the facilities/activities described, such as table tennis, tennis court, etc., one must know that none of these are in or near the hotel, but that the facilities of neighboring hotels of the same owner are located 200-300m away and about 10 walking distance. The hotel owner has in 200-300m distance still 3 hotels, which together offer these facilities. Apart from the fact that this is in my eyes a deliberate deception comes to the fact that the other hotels and thus the offered areas are by no means "Adults only". That is the scam behind it. The so-called private beach is not managed by the hotel, The majority of the people who are there are not staying in the hotel and reserve sunbeds and umbrellas there for cash. The hotel has an indoor pool, which is located in the breakfast room or in the casino (everything is an open space). When asked, we were told that the pool is here only for esthetic reasons. The atmosphere in the hotel with the always extremely dimmed light (I recommend taking a flashlight) inevitably reminds of a nightclub. The quality of the work done including the painting is pathetic, our balcony was still full of paint stains so the spider webs are not even noticeable. The door frame on our room door was broken out on one side. Caution: The photos they show at Booking for a double room do not match. They use photos from suites. FYI, the hotel is only 3 years old. According to the regulations for receiving stars that exist here in the country, this hotel does not even meet the standard of 3 stars. By the way, none of the complaints we reported elicited a response from the manager, who was present intermittently every day. They claim they have a garden and a terrace: the garden is missing, but from the room you have a view of garbage dumps and barracks in which employees live. The terrace is a joke, apart from the fact that no one spends time there, because from a nearby canal permanently unbearable odors perfume the terrace. Please check the photos of our towels we received, too. We left with a pleasure!

Nice hotel, nice position
Reviewed By mariusbutusinaI recommend this hotel for Mamaia. Is not cheap but is really fancy and the location and breakfast is exactly what you deserve! I stayed here at in the first days of September this year! I really enjoyed and I payed around 80 Euro/night with breakfast included!

Reviewed By Stefan PHotel is new in comparison with the other locations (hotels) from Mamaia BUT be aware at the following: - access at beach is a joke because the hotel offers only 16 umbrelas with around 48 sunbeds. The stuff were totally overcomed by the people that asked for more places. The hotel have around 100 double rooms so you can make the calculation regarding free access at the hotel . We tried to eat one dinner with nothing hard to prepare but took almost 45 minutes to be ready and came extremly salty. There are other good and affordable restaurants in the area so chose another one - staff could be more polite. When I asked (second time) at the reception for sunbeds mattress the answer was unbelievable : " we don't have any other" despite the fact that were at least 20 sunbeds available on the beach...without mattresses. On the plus side the rooms are big and clean and the bathrooms are well equipped.
