Reviewed By Yvonne NThe hotel is beautiful and fantastic,. We were there from the 21st April for 2 nights. Staff there are helpful and welcoming. The location is good as it is a walking distance from beach and the famous Santa Maria . We will definitely be returning back .

Tranquil hotel with sufficient facilities
Reviewed By jazzsteningSelf catered room was clean and tidy. It did lack in some items such as chopping board, sharp knives and cleaning equipment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were limited with only one restaurant, supermarket and pool bar. Restaurant had nice food but limited choice and over priced. The supermarket was small and expensive but similar priced to supermarkets in the local town. The pool was beautiful and plenty of sun loungers available as well as by the beach. The beach was a 10 minute walk away but a shuttle bus was provided. Stayed in January and the hotel was mostly empty but it meant it was nice and quiet and we had a lovely stay.

Reviewed By Dejan32Nice, big appartment. It is ok, maybe some little improvements, and it would be perfect - just not forget, this is Africa. It is not 4-5 star hotel. Space is big, kitchen is ok for basic preparation of food, but there are also a couple of restaurants nearby, that are not expensive. You have two bedrooms - the beds are kinda squechy, but ok :) Good wifi, great host. He welcomed us first day, and explained everything. Was also available later for questions. Just have in mind, there is no AC (at least it was not in our appartment). It is not so bad, because it is windy island - we were there in July, and it was ok without AC. Location is nice, just 2 min to the closest beach, and cca 5-10 min walk to the main beach. You have included free breakfast in the restaurant nearby! Recommended.

Nothing but topclass, great breakfast, great hosts willing to answer and help with any question you may have. The minibar is filled everyday - free of charge. Staff very friendly. There is a lovely outdoor seating area in the front, all with good Wifi connectivity. The B+B is only a 5min stroll away to beaches (great for swimming and snorkeling) and restaurants serving fresh fish and more... The B+B can also organize a local tourguide to walk in the mountains of the Serre Malagueta. One of the payment options can be in Euro through your mobile internet banking app which saves carrying cash around all the time. Highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxed, well pampered stay in Tarrafal.

Excellent experience for a night in the caldera
Reviewed By EmptyseaI went with 2 friends and we had a great time. The food was excellent and the service from Jose and his brothers was superb. Jose arranged transport from the airport and we paid 7000 Escudos. I asked a taxi driver there and he said he would charge me 5000. To be honest, after driving up and into the caldera I was very happy we chose the vehicle provided by Jose. We paid 10 euros for dinner I think and to be honest, we couldnt finish the food. Fresh vegetables and some grilled chicken and various other local delights. We also had some cool shots for desert. We went for a walk up to the little pico in the morning and it was a casual 2 hour walk. We then drank several cold beers and waited for our transport to take us back to town. We all loved the place and to be honest, when I can sleep in a hotel in a caldera on a volcano on a tiny island in the atlantic, I most certainly am not going to complain about the prices. Especially seeing as though the last time the volcano erupted it flattened the town. Great work Jose and next time I will try the big pico..... or drink some more beers and enjoy the view.

I recommend it for cleaning the rooms, the restaurant uses only the freshest products and the welcome is really super every time I come back here! See you soon Alex

our bb is situated on the beautiful beach and bay of sao pedro, next to the cesara evora Airport and 10 km (10 min) per minibus from the port town of mindelo, the port and the belem tower, the markets and other touristical sites. We have 2 rooms and 1 studio, a lift and a restaurant and swimming pool on the 3th floor, with beautiful vieuw on the bay and montains, breackfast is included, the rooms have private bathroom, tv, wifi and terrace. We serve home made food in the restauarant every day, we can make special food on request also. We are equiped for dishabled peoples. We accept animals.

Reviewed By L10x1) cleanliness: no house cleaning for 9 days, shower cabin with moistures, doors of shower cabin in poor condition, tooth glass dirty 2) electricity: room : poor condition; stairs : no electricity for 6 days. 3) noise: dog concert (9 pm-2 am), cat concert (2-4 am), hen concert (4-6 30 am), in house refurbishing work (from 7 30 am onwards). 4) no wifi for 7 days, some intermittent wifi for wifi in the room for 2 days. 5) breakfast: no muesli (only "chocapic"), no pancakes, no bacon, excellent papaye jam. 6) restaurant: excellent tuna with pepper (price: 17€; usual price in sao vicente: 5-10€) 6) kindness: after accepting to get all the incidentals paid at the very end of the stay, the owner changes mind within one hour without any explanation. the owner was paid 2 months in advance for the whole stay, and offered to keep a big travel bag with computer and data to guarantee the payment. the owner threatens to call the police, with the guest having his visa card in hand. the son of the owner threatens the guest. 7) contract not fulfilled: the shuttle service back to the airport included in the stay was not honored. 8) cost (50€/day) twice the price of same or higher quality bed and breakfast in san antao, or a hotel in mindelo, sao vicente

Fantastic reaction on cancellation because of Corona
Reviewed By hansvanharenI had to cancel my reservation because of Corona. A Casa da MIzi let go of the claim that was rightfully theirs. Super gesture and highly appreciated! Hope to visit them when this is all over. According to this fantastic reaction must be great to stay there!
