Peace Respite in a Beautiful Area

Reviewed By bonhamWI

My wife and I recently spent 3 very enjoyable days staying in the Hideaway Cabin at Walnut Canyon Cabins. After the hustle and bustle and extreme heat of San Antonio, even with its unique Riverwalk, the cabin and Texas Hill Country provided the low-key respite we needed. On each of our 3 evenings we sat on the cabin balcony feeding the numerous wandering deer that showed up to eat the cracked corn provided by the Walnut Canyon owners. The hills below reminded us very much of vistas in the Tuscan area of Italy. Preparing our breakfast with the provided eggs, excellent Canadian bacon from Opa’s in Fredricksburg, fresh berries, coffee, and biscuits worked out very well. We can highly recommend Walnut Canyon Cabins to all searching for lodging in the area.

We stayed at cabins 2 and loved every minute! Cabin was beautiful and in a very quiet area. The horses would come to the gate and let you pet them in the evenings. You could watch the events in the arena and shop at the store on site. Close to Decatur and Fort Worth. It was nice to see cattle in the fields as you drove in. The employees were all very nice! We had more than enough towels and there were dishes and silverware in the kitchen.

Due to hurricane in south Texas we had to cancel our vacation and my little grand kids were very disappointed. Since they all 4 of them like animals I searched and find Beaumont ranch. I got lucky and rented the guest house, this is an spacious and beautiful home with nice decor. We loved it so much That we extended two more nights and brought my son and his boys too. The owner Ron lives at the property and he was so nice, humble and with southern hospitality. This is the place for fishing, bourse back riding, zip lining, gym, feeding goats, swimming and etc. We travel a lot in and out of country. However Beaumont ranch is at top of our places to stay. We will defiantly go back soon.??

This was our second visit to Hill Country Equestrian Lodge, and it just gets better and better. We have been to other ranches and enjoyed ourselves, but Dianne's place is something special. The depth of her knowledge about horses is exceptional, and she has a passion to share it. You are guaranteed to get a thoughtful, informative answer to any question you ask of Dianne or her staff. It's not only a wonderful place to learn but a beautiful setting where animals, guests and the surrounding natural environment are all treated with great respect. We invited family to join us there and they felt the same way about this wonderful place. Can't wait to return.

Amazing Experience!!!

Amazing Experience! We really enjoyed our stay here. The mattresses were very comfy, which is rare for most hotels, the A/C was cold on hot days, the place was immaculately clean, and it was very quiet there! There’s a great little coffee shop on site to help start your day, and we loved sitting out on the porch at sunset each night enjoying a beverage in the rocking chairs. We chose the 3 hour Jeep tour on private lands, which was awesome, and if we had one more full day, we would have taken the 6 hour SUV tour through the park too. We would absolutely recommend staying here and doing their tours!
