Miti Miwiri

Miti Miwiri which in the local language, means "Two Trees", is located at the heart of the old town. Surrounded by nature and mango trees, impregnated of an imperial atmosphere that reminds the old Portuguese colonial rule, is the perfect place to begin your African experience and to explore the Quirimbas Archipelago; embracing its virgin islands, its turquoise waters, its golden beaches and a Mwani culture still proudly preserved. Our lodge is located on the beautiful Ibo Island, the most famous amongst the thirty coral islands that make up the untouched and wild Quirimbas Arquipelago.Ibo Island, Quirimbas capital for centuries, considered culturally and historically one of the jewels of Mozambique, known as the little sister of “Mozambique Island” because of their architectural similarities, is located in the central area of the islands, or in the heart of the archipelago, just 45 minutes by boat from the mainland.

As soon as Cabo Delgado is stable a must

Reviewed By Fish_Diver_10

Joerg (the manager) did the utmost to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are very big, the bed is good, there is a mosquito net. Only downside; no hot water. After a while (and with the heat) you get used to that, and it becomes actually very nice taking a cold shower in the morning. Breakfast is basic, egg with bread, butter and marmalade plus a cup of tea/coffee.

Lovely Gamboozini

Reviewed By TILLY_MOODLEY

Gamboozini isn’t a luxurious 5 star resort but it has great comfort, cleanliness, tranquility & delicious food: all that you need to relax. We booked the Lux bungalow & it was ideal. When we arrived there, Mica & Artur stole our hearts with their humility. Mica & Artur went out of their way to make delicious breakfasts & dinners as per our request. They were so pleasant & so willing to makes our stay pleasant. We were surrounded by greenery & mountains. The morning air was crisp. In all honesty, I booked there to ‘rough it out’ & my husband was not happy when we arrived. BUT, within minutes, he was sold on staying there. Both of us left happy with our short stay. It was a life fulfilling experience. While we could be amidst the local people, a short drive took us down to the beautiful & clean beach. This resort is ideally situated, close to nature & peace but also within a short distance to the busy beach, where you can rent a gazebo & chairs to relax. This short break was memorable with a big ‘Thank You’ to Mica & Artur.

One of the premier wildlife experiences in Africa

Reviewed By Tom C

Gorongosa is a very special park, and Montebelo is a great base in which to base oneself during your visit. The hotel itself is well kept, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. My room (a garden room) was clean and quiet, despite proximity to the main restaurant area. The restaurant itself is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good selection of local and international food/drink on offer. The food isn't too cheap ($20-$30 for dinner), but you must remember you're deep in the bush here, and costs are higher accordingly. The lodge will arrange transfers from Beira/Chimoio and game drives for you, the latter of course being a highlight. Gorongosa is currently in the long process of being restored to its former glory and, as such, this park can't offer the typical 'Big Five' experience some crave. Rhino, for example, are absent, as are cheetah, hyena, caracal and other species. The park more than makes up for this with a stunning variety of landscapes and, if you're lucky, tremendous wildlife. During my six day stay (11 game drives), we encountered lions and elephants almost every day, fantastic birdlife, porcupine and (a personal highlight) a pack of c.30 mabecos (painted wolves or wild dogs) with pups. The incredible amount of game on the floodplains has to be seen to be believed - I've never seen so many waterbuck in one place! There is even an outside chance of leopard, serval or aardvark. All in all, a very enjoyable stay in a wonderful place. I hope to return soon!

Absolute Heaven!

I don't even know where to start. The location is perfect, the food is amazing and the service is OUTSTANDING! Ian and his entire team really went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Nothing was ever too big an ask for them. We went to celebrate my birthday in April. Ian organized a private surprise dinner for my husband and I in our room, and I even got a specially baked birthday cake :) The only reason I've rated 5 stars is because that is the maximum rating. They truly deserve way more. Thank you Ian and team for the perfect stay. We will definitely be back!

A glimpse of heaven

Reviewed By ChrisRabie

For 5 years, my wife and I have been traveling through Mozambique. At long last we've found Vista Bonita. A place which truly offers a heart warming experience with an idyllic scenery like i've never seen before. Not even to mention a place that actually lives by the term "reduce, re-use, recycle..." You will find a super host, an absolutely stunning, clean and well maintained casa. Where Guinjata offers you fishing, surfing and beach bars; just a thew minutes away Paindane will in return offer you a free snorkelling experience, that can be compared to a scuba session. There is no better location than Vista Bonita, to enjoy your 2M at sunset, after a perfect Mozambican day.
