What a Nice Surprise
Reviewed By Silvia SWe were looking for a budget accommodation and despite the reviews we read we decided to give it a shot without big expectations. As soon as we arrived at the Pousada we were pleasantly surprised with the service and cleanliness of the place. The owner is a very nice gentleman and was courteous and nice to us the whole time. The cleaning people were also wonderful. The location is perfect, steps from the beach and you can hear the sound of the ocean the whole night,which was awesome for us. Breakfast is good, typical brazilian breakfast with 3 or 4 types of cake, breads and fruits. We like it so much that we even extended for an extra night to be able to enjoy the little Brazilian paradise Arraial do Cabo! When would def stay here again if we return to Arraial

Reviewed By Matt MWe just spend 2 days in Pousada Recanto Verdes Mares. We arrived there a by chance and it was a very nice surprise. The rooms are very clean, not very big but nicely furnished, good beds and clean bathroom. It is close to the beach, has a small nice garden with hamacs. We especially appreciated the kindness of the owners, always very helpful (they even drove us to the bus station, and we were 4+2kids!), and the excellent breakfast (natural juice, home made cake, bread, butter, ham, cheese, coffee, milk, jam, fruits, pao de queijo...you won't find that in many places). This is a nice family owned place, I really recommend it. In low season, we paid 150R$ per room per night, including breakfast.

HORRIBLE experience! Stay away from this hotel!
Reviewed By SandynuevaThis was by far the worst Hotel experience we had so far. First we found out that the place is located on top of a very steep hill, very bad to walk by foot in flip flops and even Uber drivers refusing to drive up there. Not suitable for unfit people. Arrived, we received a room facing the street with a tiny window and the size of a shoebox. Very unwelcoming room that smelled moldy and appeared old and not taken care of. Upon our request if there was any nicer room available we were told only for almost double the price. They were by far not booked out, though. The bathroom was not clean and a long dark hair was greeting us from the toilet seat. No amenities (shampoo) were provided and the towels were rather rugs. Out of routine we inspected the bedsheets with our black light torch and were left disgusted! The whole bedsheet was stained with large blood spots, as if someone was heavily bleeding in it. We insisted again to change the room and were directed to the manager. The lady’s behavior was the least guest-accommodating we ever experienced and a person with such an attitude should not work in hospitality! She was so arrogant and did not even want to have a look at the bedsheet. Instead, she cancelled our booking and threw us on the streets at 10pm! We absolutely cannot understand other guests ratings of this place and we’re shocked by this experience. Absolutely NOT to recommend, there are so many other nice places in Arraial do Cabo that treat their guests with respect and are welcoming.
