Reviewed By antidotonaif03Every time that we come to Riga, we come to Baltvilla and it's always a good choice. The rooms are large and nice, even if a little minimal. Rooms such as hotel are clean and comfortable. The Staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast is very good with cold and warm food. This tima there was a wedding but all has been professionally managed and we had'nt any problem.

Great holiday stay
Reviewed By wonderwomanno1Calm and hidden in nature - great place for relaxation. Surrounded by trees, close to a river. The hotel was clean and had everything that needed to be. Interior was nice and the breakfast buffet was very bold and full of tasty delicatessen. The only minus - staff was a little overwhelmed and busy that created not so calm and fulfilling atmosphere. The hotel is at the border side of the city - for us it was a benefit, but if you wish to stay close to the city center, this is not an option.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds
Reviewed By keithsNYCMy wife and I stayed here and loved our stay. The castle is a beautiful setting overlooking a relaxing lake and in the middle of a large park with many trails to explore. We immediately felt our stress melting away. The indoor pool is great for a morning workout and the trails are perfect for a run. The restaurant was also very good with solid options for lunch/dinner- although it is the same menu for both.

Noisy staff in the morning!

I escaped from home to get a good sleep, but it was impossible because of noisy room cleaners - loud talking in hallways, clapping doors, clapping toilet lids against the toilet pot! Terrible! Didn’t get what i came for!

An excellent place from which to explore the region
Reviewed By PeterandRobin2014We wanted to visit the Gauja National Park, and we chose Cesis as a base from which to do this. This hotel was just what we wanted: it is not a luxury hotel, but our room was clean and well-appointed, and our bed very comfortatable. The staff were very friendly, although we were glad that we had learned a few words of Latvian, as this made communication significantly easier. We should also mention the splendid breakfasts. We came downstairs to a magnificent spread of bread, cheese, meat, fruit and fresh eggs on both mornings that we were there. We came to Cesis by car (I suspect that it might be rather hard to get there by public transport), but the hotel has plenty of parking spaces. On the other hand, the hotel is very central - just a short walk away (through a pretty park) from the historic centre of the town. In short, if you wish to explore the Gauja National Park, this is a great base from which to do so.

На следующий день разрешили позже выехать, и потому, что не сезон- даже не взяли дополнительную плату. Завтрак очень обильный и вкусный. Хотя в виду того, что мы были единственными гостями, завтрак нам обеспечивать им было не совсем выгодно, но пошли нам на встречу, и все было великолепно! Рассказали, где можно перекусить. В номере было холодно, но положены дополнительные пледы, потому ночь прошла комфортно. Месторасположение удобное, в самом центре.

Clean, cosy, great option
Reviewed By Leila MGreat staff, clean place, good breakfast, good location. Wifi is slow (sometimes inexistent, had to rely on other free networks available around there). I had an small incident there that made me feel very unhappy. The owner places a decorative pot/ornaments by the staircase. It is a small ROUND staircase, narrow, and without much room to go up and down carrying your luggages. Of course that happened I accidentally broke one vase when bringing my stuff upstairs. I was completely okay paying for it, but I was surprised she decided to charge me 30eur for that. One of the staff tried to tell her that she should consider "sharing" 50:50 the cost of it, as it was not an ideal location to keep a "nice and expensive" piece of "art", and apparently it had happened quite a few times before. She never came to talk in person, all the info I was getting from the staff did not sound that nice. I was completely fine about paying for it. However, the atitute of the owner was what bothered me. Be careful when using the stairs there! ;)
