Would stay here again

Reviewed By franzatencia

Overall, we enjoyed our 7-night stay at City Lights motel (room 26) and would stay again The good: - plenty of parking onsite - walking distance to McDonald’s and short drive to tweed heads, shopping mall and beaches - in room amenities includes kettle, iron, AC, fridge, plates, cups and utensils (no stove) - friendly staff (including resident dogs) who are always willing to accommodate requests - room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable with linen and towels provided - swimming pool, BBQ and cousin-operated laundry facilities available. Only minor gripe is accessibility to first level floors requiring going up 2 flights of narrow stairs and needing to navigate past narrow balcony to get to the room because of outdoor chairs

A little gem

Reviewed By GeraldKaren

Simple but comfortable motel rooms in the heart of Tweed Heads, this motel offers pet friendly rooms (a challenge for our first time) for those travelling with their fur buddies. Our room was fresh and clean with no lingering tell tale doggy odour. Not too far away is a doggy daycare (a service we never thought we’d use - never leave them in your car if you’re ducking into the local for lunch) if you’d like to spend a day venturing out to explore the natural beauty of the Tweed valley. Club Tweed across the road from the motel offers delicious meals to suit all budgets and tastes (including vegetarian options ??) and is an ideal place to catch up with family and friends. The manager of the motel was very welcoming & nothing was a problem. For a longer stay a small fee is charged to freshen bed linen and a vacuum. The motel has an inviting pool which is scrupulously cleaned each day and a bbq area if you’d like a cook up. The only issue were guests who insist on starting up their vehicles and leave them running at 4:30am whilst packing, shutting/opening doors. C’mon guys, BE MINDFUL of other guests and leave QUIETLY. This motel is popular for a reason and I wish them every success in the future.

Good family fun

A bit pricey, but lots of fun to be had. The fingal cabin Was spacious with everything you need. The camp kitchen was huge and with decking over the billabong. Lots of fish in the billabong. Waterslides a huge hit, at one point we had the whole water park to ourselves for a good 30minutes. On site coffee van was great, picked up a nice breakfast platter for mothers day. The jumping pillow and playground kept the kids entertained for hours. Being in the flight path, the planes go over every 5 minutes and the M1 is literally meters away, bit you do seem to forget this and it is relatively peaceful. Would recommend.

The reception office reeking of cigarette smoke should have prepared us for the c.1977 room. Bright pink walls, purple satin drapes & stained, floral chintz upholstery. Came back after dinner to a room with no power. Eventually raised someone in reception who indicated that he wasn’t surprised as “the wirings pretty old & it overloads sometimes”. 25 minutes later, still no power, reception admitted that 3 other rooms had gone out earlier in the afternoon & the guests moved to another room. Asked for the same courtesy - took him half an hour to find a room (now 10.30pm), as we were moving to the new room, walked past the room next door which was apparently hosting a party. Kept walking to the car & drove off to find a different motel.
