Reviewed By W1180OOThe location of this hotel is one of the greatest in the area. It’s within walking distance of the nicest parks in the city, and more than once must-go places. Their restaurant is very good. I had a steak there and it’s one of the best I’ve had in years. The staff are nice, but they need more people who can speak english. Service is ok, but still needs much more to compare with other hotels in the chain.

Reviewed By futtrupWe stayed here twice - before and after a trip to Fann mountains - it always felt like coming home - aiming at the expresso machine and a cake when we came back from visiting the city. Thank you for your tireless driver that pick up and return us in the middle of the night to the nearby airport. The hotel is well staffed and there were always someone available to help. Also have in mind the price difference of this hotel and other more known brand hotels - for the same service. Excellent value for money.

Great location – lots of nice restaurants and major touristy sights within an easy walk; large, well-appointed and beautifully decorated rooms; good buffet breakfast with ala cart options; good Internet; overall a very clean and well-maintained hotel. But it’s the fantastic staff that makes it special. My POC – Mr. Sherzod Berdov, Front Office Manager – could not have been more professional and responsive and went above and beyond to respond to all my needs (of which there were almost 20 people in my group). The front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was an exceptionally pleasant visit. And, best of all, it is consistent - I’ve had my guests stay at the Serena Dushanbe several times over the past two years, and we’ve never had a bad experience. I would not consider booking another hotel in Dushanbe.

Discriminating and Humiliating Treatment!!!
Reviewed By Paradise601142As a Hilton Diamond member for many years I have always got a high class treatment in many Hilton hotels in different countries I stayed. Unfortunately the situation in Dushanbe is quite the opposite. In all winter months the hotel did not have a heating system and consequently we had to warm up with electrical heaters in the room, which was brought to my room after several requests. The same was in other hotel premises, including the lobby, where we had to dine wearing winter coats. When the weather got better it appears that the cooling system was also switched off and can be only turned on individually per room after complaining 4 times. Only after a month of warm weather, the hotel decided to turn on the cooling system for the entire hotel. Room service several times forgot to bring the order, which was delivered cold, after it stayed for more than one hour waiting if someone collects it. And I will not mention many other minor wrongdoings from the hotel staff. Recently I have asked for the room upgrade, as a diamond member, from my standard room, but was refused by hotel sales manager Mrs. Marina Meshchenko’s based on the instruction given by the manager of the hotel Mr. Gagan Malhotra who had said that I am not eligible for any upgrades because I have a discounted rate through my company. The “discounted” rate by the hotel is actually the same rate that I would get as a Diamond member through Hilton Honors application with only $17 difference. But, Hilton honors application is not accepted by Hilton Dushanbe and therefore this rate has not been taken into consideration. Other than that, I have been told that “personally” I will not get any upgrade when others could use this benefit. In Hilton Dushanbe I (and a couple of my colleagues) have been told that we shouldn’t be getting food vouchers as Diamond members because we have discounted rates, and that would be only a favor from the hotel. In addition, they question the complimentary breakfast as Diamond members. Beyond all, a few days later we were informed that we would not be eligible for food vouchers anymore and no points could be collected during our stay – claiming that even the points already collected should be given back. I believe that when such cases happen in the chain of Hilton hotels - crossing out all entitlements, discriminating and humiliating customers will put a stain in Hilton hotels chain. Unfortunately we have made the decision to leave this hotel right away, after almost three month of staying – besides a six-month stay plan. Hope that Hilton HQ will take appropriate steps to secure other Hilton guests to experience the same.

Reviewed By QuelianRohat Hotel is a small hotel - perhaps bigger than it feels - in the centre of Dushanbe. The main attractions are easily walkable. The hotel is very clean and feels new. The rooms are comfortable - although my twin room was a little on the small side. The breakfast buffet is very good and happens in a wonderful spacious room with a mixture of tables and easy chairs. The staff are very helpful with advice, directions, and ordering transport. There is a pleasant area to sit downstairs and drink tea, and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. On the other hand, Rohat Hotel is quite expensive by Central Asian standards - and the single lift is both small and slow.

I was told it is a hotel but in any case it is a small Place With few but very big rooms. Almaz is situated in a quiet side street not far from shops and market. The staff is friendly and at least two of staff members talk English. In general language is a challenge many places in Dushanbe unless you speak Russian or Tajik language. I found very few people that could communicate in English. Basic breakfast was served but do not expect much. Food that normally require cool storage is kept out in the open. Really missing a restaurant and a place to buy something to drink or a snack.

Reviewed By gerrie828I have been staying in Hotel Vatan since 3 February 2022 and will be returning to the Philippines on 28 February. The hotel is located about 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. It is 7-10 minutes walk from the center of the city (the Ismail Somoli monument), Rudaki park, the flagpole (world’s 3rd tallest), and other parks and places of interest including shopping stores and supermarkets. The hotel itself is a one-story building with between 30-40 rooms (am not really sure). The rooms are comfortably sized, neither too big or too tight, enough space to move around, and clean. Bathroom is clean, with strong hot and cold shower. Breakfast is nothing fancy, but sufficient. There is strong wi-fi, stronger than I expected. There is a gym nearby and nice restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. Why did I say Vatan is a 5-star hotel? It’s because of its people. They are amazing! The owners are very accommodating and super super helpful. The husband and wife team go out of their way to make sure your concerns are addressed. I had problem with my registration (for foreigners arriving in TJK). They personally attended to the concern, they were the ones who went to the government office to get me registered and I just waited in the hotel. Now that is what you call 5-star service (a million spasibo)! The front desk staff (Nilufar and Shavkat) are very efficient, courteous and friendly. I was even met (on my request) at the airport by hotel staff upon arrival at 2 in the morning. The room cleaners do their job well and are honest. I intentionally left 2 50-somoni bills lying around (made to look like they unconsciously dropped from my pocket) and asked my room to be cleaned while I went out. When I returned, the room was clean and the somoni bills were on the table. If that isn’t 5-star honesty, I dunno what is. All in all, a very pleasant month’s stay in Hotel Vatan. Now you know where I will stay again if I come back to Dushanbe. And so should you.

Reviewed By InTheDesert2014very happy with this hotel - everyone was very helpful - even from opening overly tight bottles of water, storing shopping for me and printing travel documents. Beautiful rooms and exceptionally clean and well made beds. close walking distance to Dushanbe Mall and supermarkets. Not far to walk to other sights or an easy taxi ride (taxi rank outside).
