Nice town & great hotel

Reviewed By lynndds

This hotel gets all high marks, everything was great. We arrived in Perugia by train & took a taxi to the hotel. The location could not be more perfect in this hill town. It’s right in the center of the historical section. I was getting worried as we rode the taxi up into town because it seemed a long way from the train station. It is a classy looking hotel and very warm & friendly staff. The room was perfect with a nice view of the town. We were there for four nights and easily walked to restaurants. The breakfasts were well done in a nice setting. Perugia is a college town with many young people walking around & enjoying the cafes & restaurants. We made reservations for dinner meals. One day we took the train to Spello. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Borgo Dei Conti Resort

BORGO DEI CONTI RESORT is located in Montepetriolo, just 10 minutes from Perugia, overlooking the valley of the Nestore river. The residential compound, which covers 20 hectares of centuries-old woods and olive groves, belonged to the family of the Counts Rossi Scotti who, beginning in the early 1800s, undertook its development according to the well-defined stylistic layout of the BORGO, or hamlet, with the Castle as the noble residence, while the remaining residential quarters represented a new interpretation of medieval inspiration. The painstaking restoration embraced the philosophy of the original concept, bringing to light the remarkable aspects that were all but wiped out in decades of abandonment. Today the master residence, the reconfigured residential quar- ters, the baroque style chapel and the park have taken on new roles, making the RESORT a unique and exclusive point of reference on the hospitality scene.A fiefdom with a kind and noble spirit, surrounded by the nature of Umbria, "the garden of Italy", along the road to cities of art such as Rome, Florence and Siena, near sites of Etruscan relics (Perugia and Chiusi), and destinations of both spiritual (Assisi, Gubbio, Cascia) and cultural (Orvieto, Spoleto, Todi, Foligno) significance. Yet far away from all that is commonplace. The dialogue between old and new is the common denominator of the style expressed within the walls of the 58 guestrooms of the Resort, located throughout the various residen- tial compounds. Comfort, practicality and technology blend with the charm of original elements such as fireplaces, painted ceilings, frescoed walls, antique glass and inlays. The same qualities are found in the 8 apartments, which may also be used for long-term stays. Each and every room - not only those located in the towers and turrets - offers unique emotions. The living room, in an authentic setting brimming with life, the internal court- yards and the maze of pathways, the Italian garden, the park with age-old aromatic woods, the opportunity for sports and wellness, all ensure a special experience. ROOMS AND APARTMENTS- 35 Classic Rooms- 11 Superior Rooms- 5 Junior Suites- 7 Suites- 8 Apartments RESTAURANT, BAR, TAVERN AND OTHER DELIGHTSThe restaurant, located in what was original- ly the "festivities hall" may accommodate up to 80 guests in an elegant, refined atmos- phere, where they will be treated to the best of Umbrian, Italian and international culinary traditions.Adjacent to the dining room there is a bar, an exclusive cigar lounge and a tavern-wine cellar where guests may taste "nobile" wines accompanied by delicacies. Amazing Springtime Trip!

Reviewed By josephcE5244CY

Spent a few nights here with my wife in early May 2022. Pictures do not do it justice! Stunning property with amazing vistas. Excellent service and well maintained grounds. Both restaurants are great, the casual pizzeria is great for a relaxed bite outside, while Michelin star-level wine service and menu at the in-house restaurant is divine. Special shoutout to the two gentleman working the bar. Provided elegant yet personal service, especially Oreste. He, and his colleague [lovely man with a beard], provided great recommendations on local wines and made a GREAT negroni! 10/10, would recommend and look forward to staying here again.

Good hotel, good location

Reviewed By liesenluc

We stayed 4 nights in Chocohotel and enjoyed our stay. Good sized, clean and quiet room with standard comfort, fridge, airco... Kindly welcome with chocolates. Very good breakfast with chocolate and all you need. At the roof of the hotel, it is a pleasure to enjoy the sun in a lounger at the swimmingpool. Go there for sunset too! Good location. The bus from or to the trainstation, stops in front of the hotel. And the bus to the old center of Perugia stops at the front too. Or you can walk to the old city, but it is a bit of a steap climb! It is possible to walk to the train station too, that is a flat walk, and there you can take the mini métro to climb to the old city. So you have different possibilities. You can easily visit Assisi with the train and you can combine it with a stop and visit at Spello. For Gubbio, we took the bus and so we did for Todi. In half an hour, you are by train in Passignano, and it is easy to go in train to Spoleto.
