On the negative: location (it’s not in the historical center, but also not far), noise from the street, no outside area, only 1 tv channel.

Recomendo para famílias pois cada chalé tem sua própria sala de estar, tanque, geladeira e mini cozinha (pratos, pia). Excellent value for families. Each chalet has their own living room, kitchen area (sink, utensils, plates, wine opener) and service sink (aka “do it yourself laundry)?. Very welcoming of pets, with an excellent outside area. Gustavo, the owner, is very knowledgeable and can arrange transportation, tours, etc. Not too many frills, but excellent value!

Reviewed By bigheffWe spent 3 nights at the Solar da Opera. What a lovely little hotel: full of character, on the main street surrounded by cafes and restaurants but quiet and welcoming. The room was small but comfortable and just lovely. The staff were delightful and helpful. The little cafe was excellent, serving great breakfasts and free afternoon tea and cakes. We just couldn't fault it.

Economical Choice for Easter Festivities
Reviewed By Jessica JWe traveled to Ouro Preto to enjoy the popular Easter festivities that the town is known for. We had a large group and wanted a place that was reasonably priced, but within walking distance to the village. This pousada did not disappoint. The price was one of the lowest we found for the area during one of its peak seasons, the rooms were clean with AC units, and the complimentary breakfast was sufficient. (The only negative was my fear of the electric hot water shower head). The best part was that we could walk everywhere (lengthy, but definitely doable, even with an 8-year-old child with us). Be warned - the village is a hike no matter where you stay due to the hills. All-in-all it was an amazing Easter experience (parades, street art, etc.)

It was quite disorganized however in terms of meeting special dietary needs, with many broken promises of serving gluten free bread or pastry “tomorrow”, which never materialized. Would have been much better to say that they could not accommodate that request.

Reviewed By Michael NWe stayed here for two nights. We had a great room with plenty of space, a huge bed and a very nice view. The staff is very kind. For breakfast they provide a good choice of fruits, juice, cake, bread / sandwich and omelette.

New bathroom with a very good shower. - Breakfest is generous, with many options. I would suggest safe bars inside the bathroom and stripes on the floor to avoid sliding.

Good location in the centre of town

Unfortunately we do not speak portuguese so struggled a bit finding anything out...but the tourist information in town is excellent for this too. There is a free breakfast which is awesome :) and a lovely deck area to eat it. There is also filtered water and towels are available to rent... Really recommend a city/mine tour from Herculean, a guide from tourist information. All up, an average but clean and centrally located hostel with a good breakfast.

Pleasurable stay
Reviewed By Maja KWe stayed at this pousada for 2 nights. We didn’t pre book thus had to change rooms because it was very full. This way we got to stay one night at a room in one of the houses separate from the main building. Very, very spacious room. Clean linen & towels. Nice bathroom. The second night we stayed at the main building. Also had a spacious room. Breakfast was alright, the usual Brazilian setup. We even had dinner at the hotel one night which was alright. The pousada had convenient on premises parking. The staff provided very good service, helpful, polite and friendly. I would choose this place again.
