Reviewed By 942darioaEl entorno donde está ubicado el hostel es hermoso, le da muchísima tranquilidad, alejado del centro de la ciudad. Está muy cerquita del Rio Azul que corre frente al hostel. Los dueños son muy amables. Las habitaciones grandes y ordenadas. Todo muy lindo en un hermoso entorno natural. Tiene en el frente un deck que está muy bueno para descansar mirando la montaña.

Huala Hostel's clean, comfortable and spacious bed and breakfast is set on two hectares of lawn, fruit trees and organic agriculture surrounded by rivers and mountains. Its location is arguably the best possible location in Lago Puelo. Walk 15 minutes south to the national park and Lake Puelo, 20 minutes north you arrive to the town's center, 10 to 30 minutes west or east to mountains with excellent hiking and rock climbing.

Reviewed By UmbertoDelPierroHello! Random British Tourist here. Just returned from a four night trip to Lago Puelo and stayed at this nice little B&B. Noticed there were no English language reviews for it so thought I'd do one! If you are coming down this far south in Argentina, you will struggle to find large hotels and hotel chains. You won't get a Hilton or a Marriott here, so a B&B, ("Cabana" or "Hosteleria" as they are called locally) are what is on offer. You can't judge these places like a large star rated hotel - it's a totally different thing. In truth, I'm not usually a fan of this type of accommodation and was a bit apprehensive of going here. But this one was actually pleasantly surprising and I'd likely stay here again. The layout of the place is like a small hotel. Many private rooms (with private bathrooms) either facing into one main shared area and kitchen, or facing out into the gardens. It's tastefully decorated, in style with the surrounding area. The surrounding area and gardens are nice and there is good room for parking (we were able to park right outside our door which was great for moving luggage). The room my partner and I stayed in was large and had an amazing in room hot tub. Everything was clean and tidy enough.The bed was very comfortable and very clean. There was a large fridge in the room and good tea/coffee making facilities. My parents also stayed in another room at the property at the same time as us and had the same good experience. The breakfast offered is basic but sufficient and nice enough - fruit, toasts,cakes and yogurt laid out on your own table with tea, coffee and orange juice. Ok, you won't get a full English breakfast here. But I doubt you will get that anywhere in South Argentina. That's not why you came to South America! You need to eat what is on offer - and it's totally fine. The wifi was free. The only way to improve this B&B really would be a television in room and slightly faster wifi - perhaps also air conditioning (although this is only needed really for a few weeks in summer I would guess).These are minor points though. The property is a family run business and the lady who does most of the management is called Susanna. Even though she doesn't speak much English, she is super nice and friendly and seems to love welcoming everyone. It doesn't seem to matter if your Spanish is rubbish (like mine!) - she is quite happy to try and have a chat with anyone as best she can. Case in point, we actually ended up having a BBQ with her on New Years eve :D (and some other guests, a nice couple from Argentina/Brazil came to drink champagne with us at midnight to celebrate the new year). Equally, if you want peace and quiet and to be on your own, that seems to be no problem also. There were lots of guests there just being quiet and keeping themselves to themselves. The local area is small and the town is a bit sleepy but the views of mountains and countryside all around are beautiful. It's much safer than Buenos Aires and you can relax a little here and not look over your shoulder all the time. Most things in the town close at 2 or 3pm it seems and reopen at night, which I understand is normal in this part of the world. The property is right next to a restaurant run by Susanna's son (its called Mavyska) which was good also. The wine was good and the empanadas (for British people - these are like small Argentinian cornish pasties) were very tasty. It's well worth popping in there for dinner or lunch. Equally I'd also recommend walking into town and visiting EntreBosques (a lovely bar and pizza restaurant), the owners speak great English and the food was good. The main attraction to Lago Puelo of course is the national park and the lake - so if you are into the outdoors and you like camping, cycling, hiking, canoeing or even just having picnics, this is a great place to come. The scenery is amazing (reminded me of a bigger version of the Lake District in the UK). So if you are down this way, this place is well worth a look!!
