Reviewed By feeleeciaThe hotel is easily accessible from Taichung train station, less than 10mins walk. There is a shopping mall next to the hotel, just a 3mins walk. A well-maintained hotel. To me the room was just acceptable for 2 person. Not too big not too small. This is one of the hotel that you can consider if you want to stay near the train station.

Reviewed By Catherine RImpressive service and facilities. Nice, modern, bright ambiance. Each floor has a unique design/theme creating a pleasant mood. Staff are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous. Though room though is not that huge but it is well equipped with light switch touch panel, writing table, chair, kettle, full length mirror and open concept clothes hanger. Smart TV so sound and picture is crystal clear, with many English channels. Room and toilet are super clean, no mold or dark spots, complete toiletries are provided. Another plus for me since I stayed almost a month, they provide self-service laundry, dryer and ironing facilities, use of water dispenser, wet pantry, microwave, coffee machine and cold tea dispenser all for free and located at the ground floor. Convenient walk to Taichung railway station, Taroko Mall (they have McDonald’s, supermarket, Daiso) and many more shops.

Basic hotel in central Taichung, good enough for short stay
Reviewed By Har KI was travelling in a group of 9 pax that consisted of elderly n growing teenagers, booked triple rooms for the stay. The hotel was near the Taichung Train station, hidden within small roads behind the Fuxing road 4. The small roads to the hotel was not too convenient to elderly n children especially with luggages n roads are dim at night. Hotel rooms were overall considered clean n beds are comfortable. There was a balcony to each room but unfortunately not able to access to it. One of the room smelled smoke which was the only thing i wanted to complain about. The hotel was basic and hence I did not expect too much from it regarding the amenity provided. The staffs were friendly n bowed to us when they saw us everytime. The breakfast was included in the room rate and I did not expected too much from it. The spread were still acceptable given that the hotel was not big, however the food was the same for the 2 days we stayed there but found the taste not consistent. Day 1 was good but same food on Day 2 was tasteless. Overall, I think the stay was still good, at least worth for the price that we have paid for

Excellent Location but Old and Dated Rooms

Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite small and Dated. Needs renovating. Bed was Comfortable but not Luxuriously Comfortable. Bathroom size was just okay. Toilet has no bidet. Breakfast was Amazing!. They serve the best tasting Edamame! It was so delicous that i was able to eat 2 bowls. Overall it was a good stay at Twinstar Hotel.

Wrong Inhouse, but a pleasant surprise nevertheless!
Reviewed By stevewD6315EHWe thought we were booking the Inhouse Grand, which offers a pool for our boys, but this sister hotel took care our family of 6 more than adequately. Sleep was wonderful. Love the bed's firmness. It's also fairly quiet. Breakfast was amazing. We could stay there for hours. Fitness was more than some window dressing. Rare free weights for such boutique hotels. Location was close to the train station (not to be confused with the high speed railway on the other side of town). Thumbs up!

Reviewed By John WThis modern hotel with its minimalist decor is clean, well set up and well run. One floor is devoted to dormitories, with a kitchen/common room. The bunks are comfortable with spotless linen, and have all conveniences: privacy curtains, light and power/usb point. The communal bathrooms too are kept clean. The location is convenient to Taichung train station and Zhongxiao Road night street food market. It is very good value for money.

Great location and room
Reviewed By kjl2015Location: Fantastic, just right at the doorstep of Taichung Railway Station (not HSR, that’s about 15mins away). Miyahara Icecream store a stone’s throw away to grab those IG shots with their sundaes and overpriced pineapple cakes to impress your colleagues/in-laws back home. A distance away from the famous Feng Jia Night Market but frankly there are others to explore nearby, without jostling with the University kids and other tourist crowds. Room: Room was small but able to fit a king sized bed, complete with comfortable pillows which offered a restful sleep. Bathroom has a huge tank to soak those tired legs/body. Best sleep I’ve had for my entire trip across Taiwan. Dining: MiCafe offered decent breakfast which you had to pre-select upon check-in. Staff serves warm homemade bread and American brew. Ordered a second serving of latte/cappuccino. No regrets as it uplifted is the whole day. Not suitable for big families and the management should consider scoping the theme. A boutique hotel for couples only would’ve been better, given the size, location and vibe of the establishment.
