10 Top-Rated Hotels in Cape Town Central, Western Cape

August 14, 2022 Veronika Gaddis

Cape Town glistens at the southern toe of the African continent. Tourist brochure-views at Blaauwberg Beach and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are within easy driving distance of "The Mother City." The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides sweeping sea vistas, hiking trails and wildlife encounters. On a more somber note, travelers can visit Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years.

The experience was absolutely wonderful, Everything was super from the moment we arrived, the room upgrade, free of charge, wonderful view and great atmosphere. Room service was really quick and the turndown gift was much appreciated. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean, yachts, sea and birdlife was really beautiful.

Location, Location, Location

The best thing about this hotel is its location at the waterfront. There are so many places to shop and eat within a 5 minute walk. Nice shopping malls and probably 50+ restaurants/eating places. The area is very safe with security and police on every corner. We (two ladies) walked around the waterfront after dark and felt completely safe. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They helped us decide what day trips to take and arranged reservations and a taxi to take us to a local restaurant we wanted to try. The room was quite nice and a good size. I would absolutely stay here again.

Terrible service and poor knowledgeable staff

Clogged sink , had to walk down to the reception and show the video / pictures to get someone to fix the problem. Broken USB port, you must carry power adapter and don’t rely on the USB ports in the room. Staff doesn’t know enough where and the timing to get the COVID testing. Do your own homework. Very unreliable. They sent us to the hospital late night and we found out the they don’t do COVID testing at night. The staff sent us to the wrong bank for money exchange.

Lovely boutique hotel below Table Mountain. Beautiful interior with lovey amenities and a great selection for breakfast. Pool and hot tub are available. We booked a room with a deck that overlooks the pool and had a view of the harbor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Berwen and Luca, who both went out of their way to make the stay friendly and personable.

The Table Bay

Great location but they could do better

Reviewed By SJWJR

The hotel is in a really nice location attached to the Mall which is very handy. we spent 4 nights there. Didn't have time to use the pool or the gym but they both looked OK. There was a lot of choice for breakfast but sadly it was often cold. The first day I asked for a poached egg and was pointed to the counter which had a tray of hard cold already cooked ones. They should teach the chefs to cook these at the stations as it is not very hard. The waiting staff were often hidden behind the coffee counter, on their phones. Two days running we had to go up and ask for a coffee and we also ended up clearing our table onto another, which you do not expect for this hotel. We rang reception twice to get a bottle of wine changed and it finally happened when we visited reception the following day. The rooms are fine but our sea view was actually just looking onto a load of trees, a higher level would have been better. All in all it was OK but if visiting again given the price I would try an different hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tree House for about 10 days and had an absolutely incredible experience. It was truly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Tree House is beautiful, and the staff was beyond. They were beyond accommodating, kind, and made my stay absolutely outstanding. The food was wonderful. Location is great. My room was perfection with a balcony overlooking Cape Town and the waterfront. I also enjoyed a hot bath or spacious shower each day. I hope to be back one day. I recommend Tree House to everyone and won't stay anywhere else! Special thanks to the staff - Evance, Yaseen, Tapiwa, Emihle, and Olivia. Tree House is very lucky to have you, and you made my stay an experience that I will never forget! I am so grateful!
