A lovely place to visit and to stay...

An enjoyable stay at a nice motel requires a few key things things: 1. Welcoming hosts and staff. 2. Clean and well cared for spacious rooms in an attractive setting. 3. A very comfortable bed. Haven Waters gives all three of these and much more – and we have stayed three times – most recently for four nights. Sandy and Richard (owners and managers) provided us with with a jolly welcome and a superb and genuine ‘three star’ stay at what we thought was great value pricing. Beyond the three things mentioned above mentioned, Haven Waters’ pretty and nicely maintained grounds include very large parking spaces for every unit and a swimming pool that is beautifully maintained by professional pool contractors (we saw them at work). Just across the road is the Camden Haven River with an enjoyable totally flat riverside walk of 1400 metres to the river mouth, surf beach and adjacent surfside cafe – that is very popular every morning. We saw none, but the locals said that with just a little luck dolphins often can be seen. The area of Camden Haven (that includes North Haven) and Port Macquarie is full of lovely spots and enjoyable walks – ranging from ‘mountain tops’ to remo lighthouses to bushland and beaches. We ate and ‘coffeed’ at Brewhaven Cafe (two minutes walk from Haven Waters – and across the road from the modern looking Club North Haven). Brewhaven is open all day every day (including for dinner) except on Sunday it closes after lunch. We found the food quality and prices at Brewhaven to be very good indeed – and the coffee (from Nine Yards Coffee, Brookvale) was simply outstanding – as wa NCs their very friendly service. Thank you Sandy and Richard and also thanks to your very friendly staff members. All in all we had a very enjoyable few days. For the information of readers, we discovered a while ago that when booking it is worth contacting Sandy or Richard direct by phone or using their own Haven Waters website. That way you can see any special offers that are available – these can and really do provide pleasing savings.

Comfortable, well located, well appointed motel.

This motel has just come under new management in the last month. There are already signs of significant improvements to the property. It is well located right on the riverfront and a short drive to everything you could want (beach, shops, restaurants). The rooms are well appointed, very clean and with new soft furnishings. There is a good pool and a brand new covered outdoor kitchen/BBQ that has justy been installed and with tables and chairs that would accommodate up to 20 pax. The new owners are very friendly accommodating. There is a great little cafe next door that is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Beautiful location

We had booked here for two night however it was very wet, this autumn has had a lot of rain, so we only stayed one night. The cabin was comfortable and we had booked the dog friendly one. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The kitchenette was stocked with everything you needed. The caravan park is located next to the river and is beautiful and peaceful. We hope to get back down there hopefully with better weather.

It was certainly worth leaving the main roads to stop overnight in this stunning village. I would love to stay longer and enjoy the beautiful environment. This older style motel was peaceful with friendly and helpful hosts. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we could need with a little kitchenette and a big TV for the sports fan.

Ordinary!

You get what you pay for! We didn’t pay much. At the rear of the hotel and bottle shop the rooms seem to vary as does the parking. Some rooms have parking in front others pot luck in the Public carpark, where we were. However we didn’t find it a problem. The rooms are very old but the bed linen and amenities were clean so we were OK. We’d probably stay again but try to get a better room.

We stayed 1 night on the way North. Very clean and tidy. All ground floor. Quiet as it is away from the Highway now. Obliging and friendly owner John who cleaned my windscreen before we left. Comfortable furniture and very clean. Dinner available at Hotel next door. We will use this motel as a stopping place on the way North. Easier to access than Port Macquarie. Good value for money.

Reflections Holiday Parks North Haven

Situated on 12 acres of shady bushland, and surrounded by National parks and rainforest reserves, North Coast Holiday Parks North Haven is the ideal retreat for those who like to get close to nature. As far as a family holiday goes, it has it all: swimming, surfing, fishing, boating and bush walking are all easily accessible. Catch a wave at the fully patrolled North Haven Beach, or just lie back and be lulled by the sounds of the ocean. Launch a boat at the Camden Haven River estuary and cruise the picturesque waterways soaking up the sun and the silence, or drop a line in one of the many fishing holes. Bush walkers can take on the challenge of North Brother Mountain, an imposing presence on the edge of town. Or take the less strenuous route and drive to the top of the mountain for an unforgettable east coast panorama. Dog friendly (on sites only)* seasonal conditions apply.

Fantastic facilities and friendly helpful staff.

Spent 3 nights here in our camper trailer. Although the park was busy with a visiting Rotary group, the owners/managers were very friendly and helpful. Nice spacious site, the bathroom amenities were always spotless, and the camp kitchen is the best we've seen, with tv, microwave, good kitchen, urn with hot water, and seating for large groups. One of our favourite parks we've stayed at in the last couple of months. Thanks
