Great value breakfast and staff couldn't do enough if anything needed. Just so easy. 30 seconds to the lift pass hut. 3p seconds to the chairlift.

This was my second visit within 7 months. The entire hotel staff was very cooperative. We got a suite this time, very nice and clean. Furniture could use some maintenance, though. Pool and Spa were very clean. Fitness centre staff was very nice and acommodating. I recommend some minor maintenance for the equipment there. Breakfast was good.

Not a four star hotel

Reviewed By 934se

We stayed in the 1-bed apartment - very spacious but soulless and bland, and given the sofa is used as a bed, there's nowhere else to sit, so a huge, but almost unusable space. One pillow, two hangers, no milk for coffee (we bought our own), & nowhere to take your boots off. We were on the ground floor and the 'balcony' was a two-meter by one-meter brick-walled area next to a main path. The pool wasn't open, neither was the gym or jacuzzi, though all three seemed to be open by the end of the week (kind of). Despite a 'games room' being advertised when we booked, there wasn't, so we ended up asking for paper and made our own entertainment. Food was okay, good salad but hot food often cold and other than salad and vegetables, no veggie options. Same deserts every night. We found two of the staff were lovely, all others were dour, miserable and just didn't give a ****. No table service. The hotel manager has just taken over and is clearly trying his best (really nice chap) but having a very difficult time - we ended up feeling sorry for him! As it stands, none of my party, eight in total, would ever stay there again. Clean, yes, spa area good but this is not a luxury hotel by any means. Good luck to the manager - he is working hard and I think if anyone can turn it around, he can.

Very disappointing experience

Reviewed By silviadamyanova

This is a 5 star hotel, with the quality of a 3 star hotel at best. Were staying for 1 night only and upon arriving to reception we were greeted with a very weary attitude. Nobody explained to us where things such as the spa are located, or any extra features of the hotel (such as the ski wardrobe or that we can get ski cards from reception instead of buying them in Borovets). The rooms are fine, but the overall look of the hotel doesn’t seem very maintained or updated from 5 years ago when I had last been there. I wish there is something good I could say about the food but there really isn’t. Upon arrival we had breakfast at the lobby bar - sandwiches made with the cheapest, most plain white bread from the supermarket, with low quality ham and cheese. At breakfast, the same thing - its not seasonal and the pastries and bread look about a week old. Cheapest bread from the supermarket again. The main restaurant for lunch and dinner was the most ridiculous. The service was horrible to say the least - the staff looked annoyed to be serving us and made inappropriate comments. For example we went for lunch after skiing, at around 1.30 and ordered 2 glasses of wine and said we’ll order the food in a little bit. The waitress left our glasses and while walking away under her nose said “The lobby bar is a place to just have drinks, not the restaurant”. Food is extremely overpriced for the quality (which isn’t there). We tried 2 of the 3 wines offered by the glass - we were charged 12lv/glass for a completely unbalanced and plain wine, which is unacceptable for a 5 star “luxury” hotel and restaurant. The meats or eggs were not indicated to be organic or from small local farms, while the prices reflected the assumption that they would be. The majority of the menu is made up of completely random and not making sense (in my opinion) options such as tuna with caviar, burrata with truffle cream, Zoodles, etc and very few local and traditional options. In short, the price - quality ratio is completely ridiculous and doesn’t correspond to a luxury hotel. When leaving the reception gave us a ticket so we could leave, but when we got to the barrier it didn’t work. We were in a rush so we called the guy who answers the help phone, who told us there is nothing he could do about it and we had to go back to reception to fix it ourselves. Overall the staff (with few exceptions) were very unfriendly and idle, food and drinks are horrible, interior a bit old now and overall a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend it and don’t plan on returning myself, unless they have a magical change in the management and revamp everything. Don’t get me wrong, a little of these things are small details, but this is why you choose and pay more for a 5 star hotel, over a 4 or 3 star one, because you expect these little things to be thought of.

Great location - hit and miss customer service

Reviewed By Ellie2103

We stayed here for a cheap weekend for the snow. You really can’t fault it’s location, it’s literally at the bottom of the slopes around 10 steps from the chair lift and a couple of burton lifts The bar area is great to sit outside and watch all the skiers and boarders We booked an apartment for 5 people, unfortunately I was told we had 2 bedrooms and a lounge , it was actually two bedrooms included the lounge in the second room so it wasn’t completely ideal for a group of mates with a couple! The food was so so, breakfast ideal before hand but dinner wasn’t great, we ate out two of the 3 nights The hot tub was not working and the pool is actually really small and dirty - it needed emptying and filling again to be honest I would stay there again for the ease of access to the slopes and bars but not if you are looking for a romantic break
