Reviewed By icos64We had an amazing room in the chateau with an outside terrace . Everything was of high quality and the staff very friendly and efficient. We had a very tasty dinner in the bistro. We will remember Chateau Des Vigiers as a very special place to stay set in lovely surroundings. We didn’t play golf but the course looked to be in very good condition.

In the summer our guest will enjoy a relaxing moment in our back garden, and in the warm days you be able to make a swim in our outside swimming pool. We are only a few steps from the historical city center and all the local restaurants. Please ask reception for any advise. We're in the city center of bergerac, so you will have eveything near the hotel. (shopping, museum, wine shops and restaurants) At night reception close at 10pm and after that you will have to use the digicode to get in the hotel. So please for any late ckeck in, call the hotel before to get the access code. For car parking, you have a paying public car park just in front of the hotel or if you prefer, we have a privat car park with limited spaces, it's better to book it with your room and it will cost per night. Please note the car park is closed during night time, so no access to it.
Perfect place for a road trip overnight stay
Reviewed By swissgirl_7The hotel is situated within walking distance of the Bergerac city centre. It has private parking for a modest fee. The rooms are functional and clean, and with respect to corona measures I felt very safe. It’s difficult to review hotels at this time as corona measures limit the decorative touches and everything is very minimalistic. We also had to place our used towels in bags provided by the hotel. However, the welcome, the kindness, the warmth of the front desk, the personnel in the breakfast area and housekeeping is what made this stay special. We had a very modest room, if we return I’d take something a little more expensive as the bathroom was quite cramped. Would definitely return, bed was comfortable and the breakfast spread was varied and generous. Above all, a good team, running this team make all the difference.

There is a good restaurant within the hotel, a nice patio for drinks, and a swimming pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole place needs a fresh coat of paint (and the hallway carpets badly to be cleaned), but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I would happily return.

Reviewed By Chris NA pleasant surprise when we were allocated this hotel for a night after our Ryanair flight from Bergerac airport was cancelled . It is 5 mins from airport . The staff were welcoming and friendly to this mass influx of tired and frustrated fellow travelers. The standard of accommodation is up to Premier Inn or Novotel . There is a bar with a lot of ambiance , a swimming pool and a restaurant with indoor and outside tables . The room was of a reasonable size with air con , tea making , comfortable beds with good linen and soft pillows so we had a good nights sleep . The bathroom had a bath with shower, soap and soft towels , plus hairdryer . Continental breakfast was as expected ,self service with croissants, pain au chocolate , A few cheese and meat selection ,bread and jams, yoghurt, juice and machine made coffee. Very adequate but not up to Novotel forUK full English breakfast , but good for a night stay. The hotel is in the Logis chain of recommended places that are value for money .

Reviewed By JeffA55We stayed here for 3 nights in this beautiful B & B. Valerie & Alain could not have been more hospitable. There are only 2 guest rooms & we were in the 1 that were for couples. The room was well appointed & clean & opened up to a small terrace. Our hosts were full of recommendations & it is only a short drive into Bergerac. Our breakfasts were magnafique. My wife is coeliac & Valerie prepared special gluten free things for her at breakfast. They sat with us at breakfast so we really could get to know each other. The grounds are beautiful with a swimming pool & it set around some beautiful vineyards. It is a place to relax but it also within easy driving distance to many of Dordognes sights. We had a wonderful time here & recommend it highly.

Our First Visit but certainly not our last!
Reviewed By jenwren1977I took my parents to Chateau Les Merles for dinner at the end of September before they headed back to the UK. This was my first visit but it definitely will not be the last. We all chose from the Menu Gastronomique - the 3 course option - and we were not disappointed. At €38.50 per person we felt the meal was great value for money especially as we also had 2 wonderful amouse bouché courses as well. The quality of the food was excellent and the service from all the staff we encountered was attentive yet unobtrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will definitely be back again!

French Country Living Close to Bergerac
Reviewed By SNeuhaussWe stayed for three days at La Flambee and were thoroughly charmed. Our room was simple but nice, but the selling point is the really nice location and the garden surrounding the hotel. Here you can meet the charming hen visiting you while you take your aperitive, you met the occasional baby deer walking by, and meet with the pigs and piglets in their generous compound. The swimming pool, surrounded by well-kept trees and hedges, invites for a relaxing swim. Last but not least we found the staff very charming and helpful.
