Clamping pod

My girlfriend booked this for me as a surprise for my birthday and it was brilliant. On arrival there was no one at reception but a sign was in place explaining get your key code from the notice board to access your pod which I liked it felt like abit of a mystery walking into the unknown. There was plenty of bbq’s provided around the site free to use, and a big fire pit to sit around. The pods where really clean and had everything you need beds where really comfy and a nice thick quilt and lots of pillows . The shared fridge shack had everything you needed bbq utensils a wood locker if you wanted to have a fire, toaster, microwave and hairdryer. The showers and toilets around the corner from the pods where always clean every time I used them. The cafe on site was lovely. And even though the site was not maned by anyone there was signs everywhere you looked explaining rules and how to use things and numbers to phone if you needed help. I had a great stay and would deffo stay again. Thank you for a lovey break away at a affordable price

Lovely

Reviewed By Vacation516129

We had a Monday to Friday break, 2 adults & 2 kids plus our dog. Caravan was lovely & clean & very comfortable. The site is clean & very well kept, we found our way onto the beach by climbing down the rocks otherwise there is no access as the road has fallen away into the sea! We loved the pebbly beach & had some great days with no one else around. The swimming pool on site was great, clean & just warm enough & we really enjoyed hiring a go kart to ride around the site. We loved it here & will definitely be back. Only drawback was the bar & restaurant which was over priced & not particularly good quality but we only went once & everything else on site was great.

If you love dogs you'll love it here.

We took our two Cocapoos here for a long weekend. Toilets, showers and hook up so great for tents as well as campervans/caravans. It's off the A64 main road so ok for bigger units and easy to find. Large level pitches on sand so not muddy. It costs us £28 per night plus metered electric which was very reasonableat around £2.50 per night with occasional use of heating. No need for dog leads here which is great but can also require work to keep an eye on yours and other peoples dogs. The dogs loved it especially on the big field near the stream. Right outside we took the Coastliner bus straight to Scarborough seafront dog friendly in parts beach. Tee return ticket is £9, takes half hour each way and dogs go free, This was a good day out. Most nights we had BBQ which was great but with extra care not to have sausages snaffled or burn noses. Fire pits are also allowed. One night we had a takeaway pizza and Parma delivered from the pub which is 0.3 miles away which was nice. The same pub allows dogs in part of the pub on a lead. I think it's called The East Riding. There is some dog noise, that's only to be expected but it wasn't a problem. We are looking forward to booking again and will probably go here a few times again each year.

Firstly I'd like to thank the reception manager and the head grounds keeper for your support this afternoon. We have arrived home disappointed after we planned a trip to stay in your "Geodome" tents. We checked in and headed for our "Glamping" Experience. We frequently use Glamping sites and were hopeful for a romantic stay After entering the tent, it was clear our trip would not be the experience we hoped for..... To start; the tent was situated under a tree. Completely understand that. It's was idilic. What was not so idiic was the view from the windows. It reminded me of school when we learned about the great smogs of London. Slightly different to London, we were unable to see our of the windows due to amount of bird faeces that covered the entire tent and the smear marks gave the place a really "unloved vibe" The tent interior looked like a university halls that had been vacated for the summer. Dishevelled carpets, unmatchable furniture and stained chairs. The bunk bed mattress was soiled and the carpet (which was clear trip hazard) was filthy. All around the inside of the tent we discovered dust, dirt and dead spiders. Under the bed they had stuffed a broken clothes maiden and what looked to be like a clothes horse. Again, this was covered in dust. The fridge had dried God knows what on the top. The most concerning part of the interior was the bird faeces within the tent on on the bed frame and on the dresser at the end of the bed. Unfortunately once we saw the birds mess, we decided that we did not feel conformable to stay the night. We showed the staff our concerns and they agreed that the interior of the room was not to standard. We decided to leave and asked for a refund. The reception manager messaged the owner who categorically stated that we would receive a penny back and that cleaning team would go back and rectify the issues. That's fine but the bird faeces had turned our stomach. We asked to speak to the owner who refused. We again asked for our money back and the owner refused again. For those not in the know, the dust from bird droppings can be toxic, especially pigeons. As I said, this was found within the sleeping area of the master bed. We did not want to take that risk. Looking at some other reviews, other guests were refused refunds without consultation from the owners. I felt bad for the grounds keeper and the reception manager who were embarrassed that they were left to be the "middle person" I have attached some photographs. I have also attached the "photo shopped" version of our tent from the website. It's laugable the difference between what they are advertising vs the reality. To not even speak to us on the phone is disgusting, just like the false advertisement and state of the tent. They should be ashamed. I will be posting my experience in all local camping forums including the clear evidence in the photos. Please take time to compare our version of the tent vs the online "sales pitch" version. "Rustic chic" more like "tongue in cheek" I will be posting a review every day until the owner makes contact or offers us a refund. "Glamping" no, camping barely, dissapinted? Completely. Avoid.

Not for light sleepers

Reviewed By Cheesey1000

This site has nice views over vally. There are a few things that would make a difference. Toilet shower block is in need of a revamp when we stayed both irinals were not in use had bags covering them prehaps another shower cubical in both male and female block and the Leakey roof needs repairing. Pitches are reasonable but need attention as can't say they are hard standing. It would be nice for a more hands on from owner and a way to contact someone in an emergency a phone number was displayed but no one answered as a fellow visitor tried several times to contact someone due to no electric. The other issue not mentioned on web site is that the camp is on the main flight path from airport planes quite low and the raw from engine's is loud and would wake a light sleeper. We did enjoy our 2 night stay even with issues and would stay again.could be a realy nice place if it was revamped

A great little campsite in a fantastic location. The hosts are so welcoming and even come out to say hello and get to know you unlike some who just tell you where to pitch, disappear then re appear to take your money. Site has what you need, no more no less. Nice little communal fire pit too so strangers can get together on and evening and get to know one another. Look forward to going again to get away from the daily life and to catch up with Colin and Tina.

Highly recommended. The camping areas were pristine, brand new shower and toilet facilities. Dog washing and put washing all really well laid out. The employees were exceptional and made us feel very welcome. The bar was a delightful addition with top notch seating and power for mobiles etc. The bar had games like Scrabble and was very well kept. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff chatted to us and were really helpful and friendly. What a delightful place. It was a bonus that's it's a haven for wildlife too. I will definitely be back - fabulous time with family. Thank you so much!

Stayed here with 3 other outfits for daughters wedding . Extremely helpful friendly staff and a very neat and tidy site attached to holiday statics. Some tourers were seasonal but was still all very tidy so not obvious. Adults only site which they stick to without exception. Owners are doing a lot of work on site building new reception area with small shop and I understand a revamp of tbe facility block. Main areas were very clean but the push showers are rather aggravating and dated by today's standards . Disabled shower room good size but does need updating and no mirror! Main problem we felt is the 10 amp hook up. With the home from hone comforts in most modern caravans used by adults only outfits 10 amps is insufficient. Overall a brilliant site which i would certainly return to. Keep up the good work Francesca and friends.

Only a short drive to York we used the park and ride and left the car at the outlet one day and got a taxi into town at night for a drink £15 each way in a Uber There are a couple of pubs nearby just over a mile to main road if you fancy a walk Will defo be returning and will make sure we book with a hot tub next time was very envious of the other huts but unfortunately we booked last minute and they were booked up this time !
