Beautiful caravan park with fantastic water views

Excellent place right opposite the park, beach and walking track and near the Marina

I loved staying here in this caravan park. Last time I had a cabin but this time I stayed in my van under the trees near the facilities ...toilets, laundry, and walk to the Marina at the back and the par and walking track on the other side. Tin Can Bay has great walking tracks for birds and photography and this central location is wonderful. The caravan park is well equipped and you can book tours and trips at the front desk. The dolphin feeding is down the road and a small take away supplies great fish and chips

When we arrived at our room, the bed was almost impossible to sleep on with springs digging into our backs. Zero padding. Both myself and my partner woke up with awful back pain after only maybe 4 hours total of sleep. Our towels had yellow stains all over them (Gross). The bathrooms were foul, 5 out of the 6 stalls were clogged and unusable, the showers were dirty and stank. We ended up staying only 1 night out of our expected 6 due to needing to leave for an emergency. Went to see reception in the morning around 10, doors were locked and nobody was there. Returned about an hour or so later to find staff inside chatting but the doors still locked. Once we were let in, We let them know we needed to leave and asked about any options regarding a refund for the 5 nights we were no longer able to stay for. We were told because we booked online they couldn't do anything. Staff generally weren't bothered about anything or our situation, not very helpful. We contacted our online booking platform 10 minutes later for said refund and they said they would help and they just need to contact Top Tourist parks. They then put us on hold and called TTP to which there was no response. We then received an email from booking site stating the request had been denied by Top Tourist Parks. In the circumstances I think this is just poor customer service. We stayed 1 night out of 6 and weren't able to receive any form of compensation. Generally dissatisfied and won't be returning.

Honest review

While the owner was friendly and accommodating during our stay the cabin had spider's webs in the living area, on the washing line, and in the peg basket. The deck, outside table and chairs all had bird or chicken poo on them. The pool was covered in algae so couldn't even use it. We didn't complain at the time because it was only for nights. I have an honest review on Booking.com then a day later was charged 200.00 for 'not following policies', I messaged the owner but have had no response. Booking.com have been no help either. I don't like confrontation so will just put it down to a bad experience. I just gave a review because at 200.00 a night for a couple people should be aware of what they are getting for their money

Huntsville Caravan Park

Comfortable cabin but in a very noisy position.

Reviewed By 735ursulaj

We took a SUPERIOR CABIN, newly refurbished. It was very comfortable inside, with everything for our comfort & convenience, and crockery & cutlery, pots & pans, all new & shiny. There was a small shopping centre almost opposite, where we could get Thai food. However, our cabin was situated right at the front of the van park, next to the Gympie road. In the evening the traffic thinned out by about 9 pm, so we were able to sleep, but in the morning the trucks started at about 4.30-5am, so no beauty sleep was had after that time. We moved our bed across to the opposite wall, and made the head end towards the park, not the road, which helped a bit. We also left the aircon on low all night, to create white noise. Retrospectively, I would take an older cabin that was further from the road. The noise levels could be helped somewhat by a noise reducing barrier at the front of the park. Another small issue was that the steps up to the small front verandah jutted just slightly into the parking area for the car, so I had to be very careful not to hit the bottom step when coming or going. So ask the position of your cabin when you book, to avoid the noise problem.

I was lucky enough to find the TCB tourist park a night from hell in a place on the same street. Straight away Mel and her team made me feel so welcome. The cabin was ideal for a short or long stay, fully appointed and a real pleasure to come back do after a long day of flood relief. The staff were incredibly helpful and the wood fired pizza van was unbelievably good. I can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to coming back as soon as I can. John - RapidActionSport.
