Disappointing

Reviewed By kathyeichner

We stayed in a cabin, that although had a comfy lounge and modern dining suite, was in need of updating. The bathroom vanity was very dated with cracks in it along with rust.... the toilet seat was so worn and aged that it was rough to touch. White goods were very old and needed to be replaced. Although the caravan park is in a great location, its cabins are in need of refurbishing.

Superb customer service and well-maintained amenities

Spent 2 nights there before heading to Cape Jervis to take a ferry to Kangaroo Island. After knowing that our campervan didn’t need a powered site, the kind and friendly reception staff helped us to downgrade ours to an unpowered site. A medium sized caravan park with plenty of trees and shades. It was the 2nd half of May and the park was quiet. The toilet was big and clean and the hot shower was good. Unfortunately the camp kitchen was under renovation and couldn’t be used. The down side of travelling in low season. Luckily there was a kettle in the laundry room. A short drive to Aldinga where both your stomach, car and fridge could be replenished.

Untidy and not clean Unit and Park

Reviewed By Jacinta B

We stayed in a cabin in the park. The couch was so dirty the arm rests were black and it sunk when you sat in it, hence we only sat in it once. The fire alarm wasn't connected to the ceiling in the kitchen area. The oven was in a cavity that was very in need of attention. The outside was covered in cobwebs, they need to sweep the outside of the cabins to clean away the cob webs. When you pay good money you expect to have a very clean cabin.

Beautiful setting and facilities were ok

Reviewed By emilywN4874II

Having stayed at a number of holiday parks, this one was ok, but not as great as other ones which was disappointing considering we paid the same as other holiday parks. We stayed in one of the new park view cabins, which were great, but they didn't have a dishwasher, coffee machine or oven, while other parks at similar price points did. The pool is "solar heated" (aka warmed by the sun to whatever the temp is that day!) and is small enough to be in someone's backyard, but the water slide, jumping pillow and scooter/BMX track were great! The wifi is capped at 1Gb per device per day which sucked after a busy day at the beach, the kids had gone to bed and the adults just wanted to watch a movie, but the movie cut out 45 minutes in! All these little things seem insignificant, but together, they added up to make the holiday considerably less enjoyable than others we've had elsewhere and we probably won't be back.

The worst facilities I have ever seen

Reviewed By lauramR7544EN

We have camped at many caravan parks over the years, we understand facilities are old and that's ok but this place is just filthy! The facilities and amenities are the worst and most disgusting I have ever seen! The mould, grime, smears, general filth is beyond unacceptable for normal times, let alone when they are preaching covid restrictions. Cabins were equally filthy. Just unacceptable! The disabled toilet has not been clean since we arrived 3 days ago. Will NOT be back

Quiet and comfortable

Stayed in the ‘Stables Cottage’ for one night before heading over to KI. We loved the place, although we used a Stays voucher and stayed during the week we found it reasonably price. Staff we dealt with was very pleasant and helpful. The accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable. Nice kitchen area and wood fire. The Stables are situated in a quiet area of the park which made you feel like you were away from everyone. Bed was big and comfy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend

Heysens a definite REST

Walking a section of the Heysen Trail we had planned a night at Heysens Rest. Little did we know we would be walking longer than expected and in the dark. Jayne our lovely host was messaging to check we were ok and even offered to drive down the road to pick us up. We made it, feeling very weary and her welcome smile and hug was much appreciated. Our cabin was a welcome sight. Beautiful, clean, warm and comfortable. A well earnt REST along the Heysen.
