Reviewed By 867janarThe hotel is very good. Interesting concept. I spent two nights in room for 1 person. The room is small but well equipped. There was small window so I missed daylight and the door to main floor is not soundproofed. The breakfast was very good. Overall the hotel is good, you have to count with some specifics which keep the hotel close to the origin prison concept.

Reviewed By RoadboyMade a good choice for a one-night stay, arriving by car, as outside the central restricted zone (yet only 10 minutes from the stunning heart of the city, over a canal lock then the Danube). Relatively expensive (€145 with breakfast for two), but we did get an immense room - very sparsely furnished, with idiosyncratic fittings, in places style over substance. An excellent buffet breakfast, and easy parking underneath.

The modern interior of this 19th century building is cold and without character, but includes comfortable, quiet rooms with air conditioning - a rare treat in this part of the world, which gets it from 3 to 4 stars. The buffet breakfast was good but at the time we visited, in the midst of Covid hysteria, required not only the dreaded face masks if you moved from your table, but the wearing of plastic gloves to put food on your plate - all of which was fiercely policed and something we mercifully didn’t encounter anywhere else in Europe. On the positive side, the hotel offered a quiet sleep in large beds and is within a very short walk of Regensburg’s historic centre.

Hotel Luis was a fantastic place to base ourselves from, a stones throw from the city centre. The staff were all lovely, very friendly and helpful with tips about where to go and what to do. The hotel was very rustic and trendy which gelled together seamlessly, we would definitely stay with them again!!

A nice stay
Reviewed By OnlilyThe surroundings of this monastery are very nice. We had a good experience sleeping one night here. The staff was very polite and helpful. The cleanliness and the silence of the environment called the attention and you can sleep in a comfortable bed. You don’t need to use an alarm clock to wake up because the church bells make this service. I didn’t give 5 stars because of the breakfast that has a bad service.

Our nice little hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, just 7 minutes away from the train station and about 5 minutes away from the cathedral. The house is very unique in it's style and outstanding in the friendlyness of its staff. Enjoy our breakfast and our wonderful atmosphere

Reviewed By Tom OExceptional staff, comfortable bed, great atmosphere, very quiet spot. It has some quirks - we chose to stay on the top floor, which would be tough with lots of luggage. Decent but small shower, wifi was too spotty for video calls, but otherwise a perfect spot. The breakfast was a solid offering of just about everything, and the staff and management could not have been nicer.

We also got the chance to taste amazing Bavarian dishes cooked there. I would definitely return for a holiday! A perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural landscapes!

Quiet place in the Old Town

The room itself was spacious and clean, with a nice en suite bathroom. The breakfast was a typical spread of meats, cheeses, and cereals. Check-in was very smooth and check-out was even easier.

Reviewed By RogPThis is a great family run hotel. We stop off 6 times a year on our travels across Europe and are always greeted warmly at reception. We have now stayed in a number of different rooms over the last few years and all are well appointed, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good, with cereals,fresh joghurt, juices, fruit, cold meats, cheese and fresh local bread. Good range of teas, but a very fine coffee. Only a limited number of car parking spaces but the owners are very accommodating in moving their vehicles to make space for the weary traveller! Highly recommended.

Reviewed By Rob684Good place as a one-day stop during a longer journey. In a dormant village neighbourhood. It has all you need: beer garden, evening meal, breakfast, bed but nothing else. Personnel is very friendly. Room size was good, clean and comfy. Bathroom with toilet very simple and somewhat outdated and door cannot be locked. Room (#3) overseeing beer garden and therefore a bit noisy. Wifi is dreadful, hardly any signal.
