The owners and staff are dedicated to making you feel at home. The Armstrong Inn Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dining. The cuisine is homestyle and very popular with the locals. Armstrong itself is quite charming and the home of the Interior Provincial Exposition (IPE). The fairgrounds are within walking distance while the city of Vernon is only a 15 minute drive away.

Reviewed By grincht2021If you plan to risk your health and stay at the Armstrong Inn, then be be prepared to clean your way in to the suite. At a glance, the rooms appear clean, but in short order one can see dust on picture frames, leftover food in cabinets with kitchenettes, very dirty ovens, microwaves, and hard to reach areas. Clean sheets are not offered a regular intervals for long time tenants. There is a lack of cutlery in kitchenettes, and cookware is horrible. If you have a view of the courtyard on North side, one will see a messy, cluttered space , not for guests, but for the family that runs hotel. Think thrice before staying at this hotel.

Reviewed By 862lanadWe needed a place to stay that was more inexpensive than a hotel. I am always leery of staying in motels since I had a bad experience last time I came to the Okanogan. This motel is very well-kept and clean. The owners are so friendly, hard-working and accommodating. It was lovely to stay here. I would stay here again and recommend them.

We had the Cherry room which was nicely decorated, bright, and had a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious. We especially appreciated how the owner, Barb, went out of her way to accommodate us. We recommend staying here and will definitely return. (Oh, and make sure to try the cherry jam, delicious! ?)

Reviewed By S1866GWamandapBooked a room about 2 months before my stay at $119/night. Requested a confirmation email and was told “no, you don’t need one” (weird). After being told by someone else in the same travelling group that they had called and their room had been jacked up to $179/night with no notice I called to confirm my own rate, and sure enough they increased it from $119 to $179 without any notice. The owner was exceptionally rude and called me a liar. I called back the next day to adjust my reservation by a day and was told my room was cancelled because I lied about the initial rate I booked for. He actually said “I canceled your room because you lied to me” It felt like I was speaking with an angry child as opposed to an adult business owner. Super unprofessional. I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. Make sure you demand a confirmation email otherwise they can change your rate.

Reviewed By Prairie_NomadsThis place is a hidden gem. I stayed for six nights and was pleasantly surprised. Suzanne and Paul are charming hosts and the accomodations are immaculate. There is a beautiful deck at the rear of the property that overlooks a gorgeous garden. A great place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the quail parade down. You won't have to worry about noisy guests ever and breakfasts are delicious with many homemade jams. There are many great dining options within a 10 minute drive. I have stayed at many hotels in the Kelowna and West Kelowna area and this is a real treat. Highly recommended!

Very comfy bed, if anything was to be criticized, then a dozen or so pillows might be a little overkill ;-) Great breakfast, good discussions with our hosts Alan and Gary at the table. Both are very nice and welcoming; Gary even introduced us to his hobby and gave us a private tour of his beautifully restored vintage cars!

The view from the window and deck. The excellent wifi. The healthy breakfast. The photos on the website don't do the place justice. The room is larger and the view better.

Reviewed By Jo-An DAfter having a change in plans we booked three nights very last minute. Mike could thankfully accommodate us. Upon arrival Mike cheerfully provided us with the lay of the land - shared kitchen available, our own mini fridge for anything we needed chilled, the all important cupboard with the wine glasses of course. He showed us to our room which was clean and spacious, with an adjoining private bath. Mike provided a healthy sized breakfast each morning at our time of choosing - a definite perk from other BnBs of set breakfast time. Each day was different, and each day was delicious with excellent presentation as an added bonus! We came and went as needed for our weekend activities with no concerns. The location is med-way between Vernon and Silverstar, about ten minutes from each, so be aware of this. Though the benefit of this was the exceptionally quiet nights we had, able to open the window and allow in the fresh air as we slept. Both Mike and Edie were lovely to chat with and knowledgable about the area. When we return again we will absolutely stay at Silverstar BnB no question!
