We love it here and will be back! It's a 5 minute drive to Foxwoods and SO much nicer and cozy. We enjoyed the breakfast menu choices each day. Choosing our own personalized breakfast each day was a plus. The meals were delicious and we enjoyed them sitting on our quiet deck. The room was comfortable and relaxing. The grounds are beautiful, too. Erika was accommodating and pleasant. We wish we could've stayed longer.

An amazing stay!

We chose to stay here because it is close to the AirLine Trail, and we are training for a bike tour. (As full disclosure, it is about 3 hilly miles from the trail.) We could not have been happier with our stay. The cottage was lovely and quaint, but the best part was the patio. We sat out there for hours looking at the pond, the beatififul grounds, and watching bunnies frolic (seriously!). The home made, served breakfast was a perfect way to get us back on our bikes again. We definitely want to come back. I imagine the fall would be perfect!

Small town gem

Reviewed By AvaPatricia

My family has stayed at the Thames Inn a couple of times. It’s not a high end, fancy place. You can pay the high end prices if you need that. But this place is clean, comfortable, within walking distance to a few restaurants, has a beautiful river view with sunsets, and has friendly and helpful staff. It’s an underrated gem and we will return next spring.

READ THIS BEFORE EVEN THINKING OF GOING TO THIS PLACE!! When we arrived no one was there to check us in. We also had a huge problem as something we had arranged with the owner Carol was way out of whack. They have no phone # listed to call & I remembered reading somewhre she lived next door in the Avery House. So wife & I went next door, no one answered, so around back we found a staircase to the 2 story deck. We knocked on the door and her husband Ted answers the wreaking of booze. We asked him why the arrangements we had made with Carol and had email confirmation was wrong. He had no answer, we asked for a refund and said we would drive home 2 hours disappointed but not mad. He walked away & then Carol comes storming up to the door drunker than Ted refusing to refund us, telling us lie after lie when we had proof in an email of the arrangement. We repeatedly gave her an opportunity to make things right with a refund & she repeatedly told us no, deal with it. Not one apology, just slurring of words and lies. So we went next door to the Inn. The following is the truth, the whole Inn smelled like a barn & had moths flying all over the inside. I have video proof of the moths. After a few hours we decided to just drive home & not stay the night. The next day I messaged Carol asking for at least half my money back & told her most business owners at least care about good reviews if not good customer service. She told me that I was committing extortion & had stolen a bunch of things in an effort to scare. Well I don't steal & don't want anything but an apology. Now we are out $187 & Carol could care less.

Perfect if you love roaches!

If you love roaches this is the place to stay. This was an emergency stay, paid $100 a day for this, the phones in the room don’t work, the smell is unbearable I had to buy cleaning products, the sheets had hair on them when I complained they came to change sheets and those sheets had hair the staff proceeded to remove hair buy picking them off, hair in shower poor housekeeping. I witnessed the housekeeper fold a towel and place back on shelve that I placed on floor prior. Checked out and went to another hotel (hop river) to find out it’s worse and it’s the same owner, the pictures say it all not worth losing money, they are constantly roaming around to watch what you do and lied about coming to clean the room they really came in to see if we had any visitors, this place is not worth it at all!!

Nice stay at the Inn

Reviewed By KarenFunTrips

We ventured to the seashore of Connecticut in the town of Niantic. It's a small town next to the more known area of Mystic Connecticut. The three nights stay at the Inn was a reasonable price during the month of May. The staff were very friendly from meeting us at the door to the end of our stay. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. They start at 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. There is limited seating in the breakfast area if all guests have to eat there. There are two person seating on the back porch that could be used in warmer weather. We stayed on the third floor in a corner room and had a beautiful view of the marina. The room was stocked with nice fluffy white towels and accessories. They also supply plush bathrobes. On the first floor there is coffee available along with the refrigerator stocked with cold water and soft drinks which is available to you at no cost. The location is ideal on a quiet road. You are a short drive to several museums, nature sites and popular towns. We did one indulgence and purchased a banana split at the local Dairy Queen! Highly recommend this Inn. They are listed on the "select registry" for bed and breakfasts.

Terrific stay during a very cold and icy weekend

Reviewed By profjan06nj

Long overdue review. We were fortunate to stay here in January when it was frigid cold, snowy, and super quiet. The inn is beautiful and cozy. With all the COVID restrictions, and the fact that we had not been away at all, this fit the bill. So clean, so careful with everything. Table set up for the breakfast so you could have space on your own. The town is very quaint, and probably crazy busy during high season. We still walked around and went to some local eateries. The staff at the inn are phenomenal. They want you to be happy! There are a lot of rooms, but you don't really notice that. It is quiet and unhurried. Our room was spacious, and spotless. We arrived on a brutally cold day and were greeted very warmly. Will definitely book again.
