Visit with missed feeling

I advise visitors to book another hotel close to the main road with stunning views over the valley.

A Peaceful Breath of Fresh Air in Morocco

Reviewed By taylorsescapes

After 9 days in Marrakech, this kasbah was a breath of fresh air. It's not very luxurious, but it's nestled away from the hustle and bustle on a quiet river in the Rose Valley and the atmosphere is so peaceful. My husband and I were lucky enough to have this entire place to ourselves. There are so many great sitting areas and for Morocco, the WiFi is very strong (fantastic for people who have work to get done on the road.) Despite some language barriers, the staff was over-the-top kind and accommodating. They made us fantastic tea when we arrived, and one of the best dinners we've had in Morocco! The only thing that struck us as odd was that there wasn't a trash can in the room/bathroom, so we didn't know where to dispose of things like dental floss. Otherwise, it was a really nice little stopover on the way to Merzouga, and we'd stay again!

Best Riad we’ve stayed at to date!

Reviewed By brookem749

The host was so so kind during our stay! The drive into the road was a little questionable (through the rose gardens-but they weren’t in bloom so it seemed like we were driving into the wrong area) but once we reached the road we were so genuinely surprised. The backyard area was stunning with a herb garden and rose garden. There were gazebos, hammocks and couches so relaxing! You’re given mint tea as you arrive and it really sets the tone for the trip. The rooms were beautiful and well equipped with a balcony as well that looks onto a Kasbah! The host was so sweet and kind. And the breakfast and dinner were to die for. Well worth it !

Nice garden but that’s all

Reviewed By Susan J

Actually can’t believe this strange place. Practically impossible to find in very remote region. If my husband wasn’t Moroccan and could ask locals a lot we would never have found it. The parking on the road is very complicated - my car got a huge dent from the rocks. Then it’s a 8 minute walk of road down a tiny track through fields and bushes, over a small stream. All very lovely. Arrive finally at the place and garden is nice, roses some flowers but chairs dirty, terrace broken. Waited more than an hour for the room and realised the owner had forgotten about us. We booked the family room as only one left. It was really awful. The decor is very strange and in terrible taste. Whoever decorated must have been sleeping. Bathroom was falling apart. Water cold. Beds rock hard. Sheets strange colour. Dinner was awful. Tagine that needed to cook another 40 minutes. Fatty and onions not cooked down. Found hairs in the breakfast food. Overall someone really can’t cook and hygiene is not a priority. Fine if you like rustic and pay accordingly but we left 100€ lighter after one night. Was delighted to leave.

beautiful hotel but not overly welcoming

Reviewed By Gigi s

Very big hotel and seemingly luxurious with nice gardens but pretty empty and lifeless. Room was very nice, clean, 1 dbl and 2 twin beds, quite large, on second floor with nice balcony outside. Room was ice cold and water luke warm. Restaurant next door was more of a café atmosphere, but when we arrived late one night and asked if they had any food they whipped up a good tagine for us fairly quickly. The guy running it was efficient and helpful when we asked, but not overly friendly. Definitely not a homey atmosphere. Would probably not stay there again. I would expect hot water for the price we paid. it's also far enough out of Kelaa that we took a taxi into the main part of town.
