Baan Rim Ao Resort is a bayside resort located near the Gulf of Thailand and many tourist attractions in Chanthaburi like Old Town Chantaboon Waterfront and The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. For the transportation to the resort, since my friends and I couldn't drive. We took a public transportation to Chanthaburi Bus Terminal. Then, we asked the resort to come pick us up. When we arrived at the resort, we were stunned by the beautiful scenery and the beautiful decoration. Moreover, the sound of the waterfall near the reception made us feel relaxed and so ready for a vacation that we longed for. The hotel's decoration is very simple but stunning. The wall has the quote about vacation painted on it, for example, 'travel more, worry less'. The room was amazing as well. The resort provided everything you wanted such as the fridge, the hairdryer, some snacks, some bottle of water, and television. The bathroom is very clean and quite big as well. The scenery from the room is stunning. We can see the pond of water lilies and the resort's garden which made us feel very relaxed and close to the nature and the swimming pool. The garden has so many place to take a picture and since it is near the bay, it is very windy too! But again, stunning view. The food is quite nice since the resort also has a restaurant called Bang Manao within the resort. Our first dinner there was remarkable. Breakfast was also provided. The resort had variety of food from sticky rice with a grilled pork to a cereal and a salad. Everything was yummy too, impressive! The resort also provided Wi-Fi to the guests. For us, the internet connection was quite good and we didn't have any problem using it. They also had bicycle rental service for the guests who wants to ride a bicycle around the area. We rode a bicycle to King Taksin The Great Shipyard which located very near the resort. Apart from that, thing that impressed us the most was the resort's staffs. The resort's staffs were very nice and friendly to us. We had a nice chat with P'Amm who was at the reception. The other staffs were friendly as well. They took care of us when we asked for a bicycle and since we couldn't drive, they drove us to the tourist attraction that we wanted to go before we went back to Bangkok. I would like to say again that they took care of the guests very well and you won't be disappointed. All in all, this was one of the most enjoyable trip that I had. Even though the resort located a bit far from the city, it was quiet and peaceful and worth every penny. Nice decoration, nice food, and the staffs were very nice too! If you want a nice and peaceful experience when you visit Chanthaburi, Baan Rim Ao resort is a place for you!

Room start at 790 thb including more 50thb for breakfast ; serve a bowl of boiled rice, Fried egg, sausage and ham with a cup of orange juice, and still water. They also have restaurant with rooftop infront of the hotel. Food and coffee are all good!

Happily back to the past
Reviewed By PT KIt was the first time to stay in this type of hotel to bring back childhood memories when visiting provinces. Our group of 8 rented the whole 10-room house to have privacy which was the best decision for all. The room styles made it interesting to see and take pix as well. Really loved sitting by the river for breakfasts to enjoy nicely selected and delicious dishes. The staff team was attentive with great sense of service.

It's a small, tastefully decorated, very charming and comfortable eco-friendly hotel in the heart of the city, close to the river, the old town, the temples, several famous restaurants & cafe, as well as the major tourist attractions. This hotel was renovated from a 60-year-old house and stands elegantly in the midst of the local residential area. It is my 1st time to stay at this hotel and I am tremendously impressed with it! The 1st night, I stayed in the lowest room category named "Green Traveller" as all the other room types were fully booked. However, I was not disappointed at all, as the room is quite well-designed and comfortable. The lighting is good. The mattress, the blanket and the pillows are fantastic. I really had a great sleep that night. If you just want a cosy room to sleep + a clean toilet and a shower, this would be ideal. However, the next day I moved to the highest room category of the hotel, the most popular one and the one I had been longing for (as I saw the picture in the magazine & fell in love with it). It's called "Green Corner Romantic". This room is really spacious, very well-designed with very impressive facilities. There is a big bed in the middle of the room, a sofa to watch the TV, a day-bed by the window, a nice working table, and an outdoor bathtub at the balcony with complimentary bath salt and a candle to light in the evening. It's a really lovely and romantic room. This hotel also has the co-working space where every guest can utilize and a Slow Bar where the guests can order tea, coffee or other beverages. What I am most impressed here is the high-speed internet, the very high water pressure in the bathroom, and the very friendly, active staff, esp Pim and Dream at the Front Desk and Anne at Gingerbread Restaurant. I would say the owner of this hotel is a really tasteful person who pays attention to every detail. I notice that everything she uses in this place is a high quality brand if not a very neat local handicraft. I really enjoyed my stay. This is one of the hotels which you should never miss!

Our chalet room was brightly decorated and simply furnished with a clean, modern bathroom. Breakfast was ok, staff friendly and helpful. A good choice to break our journey from Bangkok to Koh Kood.

Good Potential but Horrible Management

The hotel had good potential- its new, the set up and the design of the hotel is nice and well thought of but the operation needs major improvement. The bathroom in my parents room was a mess, it flooded even when nobody used it and the staffs werent able to do anything about it. It was hopeless and it was obvious that they should have provided another room especially that it was during 8:30 PM and we wanted to rest but it took them almost an hour to give us a room. It was a horrible experience, they moved my parents into they called a family suite but it was a smaller room than what they booked for so we asked them why did they downgrade us and they were insisting that it was an upgrade and while we were discussing both my mom and I had asked to talk to the Manager who was in the office behind the front desk but even after asking 10 times the Manager didnt urge to stand up from the desk and ignored our request. While all this was happening one of the front office lady staff was showing disrespectful facial reaction towards my family and even after I confronted her about it she continued to roll her eye the minute i turn my back but my mom and niece saw it and of course got mad. Only one of the lady staff and the bellyboy/engineer staff were the people who seem to know how to work in a hotel but the rest of the management needs to be changed. The hotel could have been nice but poor service wont do it any good.

Charming resort hotel in a charming city

It is our 3rd visit in the last 2 years and this time we chose to stay in this charming resort hotel by the quiet river - yes mostly quiet except when a motor "long-tail boat" passes by. The owner is a famous Thai royalty, but that's beside the point. We stayed over 3 nights in the jacuzzi suite. We fell in love with the veranda that provided us with a space to enjoy the river view. There's even a jacuzzi out there. Not everything in the room worked on the day we checked in. But thanks to "Oat", the errand boy who gave his heart and soul in servicing us during our stay, most everything was fixed. Oat answered most of our calls including helping to prep up the kayak, bring the pool towel, check-in, and many more. We owe him. Much else is average. But still this is a gem in Chantaburi.
