Very much authentic
Reviewed By Heidi1982015We stayed in this pousada because there wasn't much choice in the town. We were only in Penedo for 1 night and it really is worth a stop if you like authentic old buildings. Nothing has changed in the town including the pousada. It is very grand and beautiful but it definitely needs an upgrade. Perhaps a paint- new bathrooms and new beds and linens! Otherwise it would be fabulous. Staff helpful and breakfast was great- simple but good. It was quiet and the view over the river was magnificent!

Small prison highway motel
Reviewed By Gisella44I really dont understand all the great reviews of this hotel. Although the staff is really friendly and breakfast quite ok the hotel is not good at all. All rooms are like a prison cell with just a small window that looks out on a wall with barbed wire and have no decoration what so ever. Our room was not clean and several things broken and old. I can imagine staying here for a night while passing through but thats it. Its too far from the city to really enjoy, there is no garden or nice place to sit. Won't recommend it.

Reviewed By Howard PGood pousada in small town. Owner and employees were very friendly. Pousada was clean and breakfast buffet was good. Small pool with view looking toward town and river. Piranhas is divided between the historic town along the river and the more modern town less than a 5 minute drive up the hill. This pousada is close to the entrance to the historic town, but only a 5 minute walk down to the riverfront. Try to come on a Saturday night when there is a show in the main plaza area. The rooms are a little dark due to limited windows. We chose Room No. 1 which faces the street in front. It is next to the reception desk, but has a larger window.

Helpful and comfortable with a great view
Reviewed By auntyfrankManuel is the owner/manager and is very helpful with organising activities. Make sure you ask him exactly what the price includes and doesn't. The pousada is very clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony and some of the rooms is incredible. I had a good breakfast and really recommend this pousada - you won't find a more helpful new friend than Manuel or a more comfortable stay in Piranhas. The town itself is small and a little hard to get to but worth every moment with a lovely river to swim in and some nice restaurants and museums too.
