This spot was absolutely beautiful and close to Addo Park. The breakfast and restaurant on the lot was delicious! Emma and her husband were super sweet and very accommodating - even offering us a larger room just because it was available. Thank you for everything!

Bush Cabin Experience

Reviewed By Luciboss

We stayed in the bush cabin and it was great fun spending two nights there. When we got there we realized that the restaurant was closed, so just prepare yourself in advance so you do not have to go shopping (there is a Spar in Colchester 40km) but next to the other Addo entrance. It is only 5 km to the Addo and that day was fantastic. When we came back we had a nice braai and the fire kept us warm. It is really unique and you can enjoy next level sundowners. Even with bad weather it is really nice. We made a lovely chicken stew and sat there for hours just enjoying nature. We made friends with a tiny gecko on the balcony who then took of again. The outside toilet and shower is a nice experience! The Cabin was really clean and more than enough towels were provided. Also the owners were very friendly, nice and helpful! We will come back!

Closed to Addo but that's about it !!!

I can not understand how this guest house got any good reviews. The apartment is shabby. The walls are dirty, the toilett is moving, the doors not closing and the shower doesn't get hot or even warm. After our complain they told us that the heath for the hot water wasn't switched on .... SERIOUSLY ... They charge more than other accommodations and are by far the worste we stayed in. Breakfast was well prepared but the menu was sticky and the tablecloth dirty. Furthermore the dogs lay on our seats outside even with our cloth or towels lying there and follow you wherever you go. The yard is well groomed but that's about it.

Fantastic Surprise Night Away

Reviewed By mletts784021

The greeting we received upon arrival was a warm, friendly one. Our children loved the room the dogs and the little park. We loved the space and the beautiful setting. It has a non-commercialized, family feel to it which is exactly what we needed. The get away was a surprise from my Husband for us all, and a very spontaneous one at that, but even though it was booked at very short notice, everything was there that we needed and was spotlessly clean. It is close to Addo Elephant park, which was only a short drive away (just be prepared for non-tarred roads, but that is common in S.A) I cannot praise it enough and will defiantly be staying there again. In fact we are booking our friends in as a surprise for their 10th Wedding Anniversary.

The cottages are self catering, and kitted with everything you might need. If you choose to eat out there are great restaurants close in proximity, Africanos been our favorite. There is no better place to stay if you visiting Addo elephant park. Once you have enjoyed the park you can escape the crowds and enjoy the beautiful gardens and take a swim. The whole team at the Elephant house are incredibly helpful and friendly. Brightman, the ranger will either drive you or if you choose to self drive will point you in the right direction to see the best game. Wonderful location and very warm service!

Reviewed By Arend V

The lodge is an oasis of peace and quiet. For us, this was the sixth and final stop of our trip. We even booked an extra (third) night here, because we found such peace and quiet in the lodge's huge garden among the citrus groves. With our three children, we stayed in a hut with two adjoining rooms. The word hut is an understatement for the very luxurious feeling of the rooms. This is due to the sober but tasteful decor, the great king size beds and the beautiful bathroom with spacious shower. The huts are cleverly arranged, giving you a great sense of privacy, while both the restaurant (where you can have breakfast and dinner) and the pool and playground (highly appreciated by the kids) are all close by. The lodge has a very family atmosphere because of the friendly presence of owner Linda and her son Chris (who organizes day activities and can take you to unique places that you would never be able to see or do on a regular guided tour - check out his company Criss Cross Adventures). If there is one place in SA where we would come again, it is this one.
