Great stop whilst travelling

We visited LaCluzas in May so pretty much everywhere but the hotel and the supermarket was closed. That was fine though as we were just stopping off on the way to Paris from Italy. For a stop off point the place is excellent.

Club Med Serre-Chevalier - French Alps

The resort of Serre-Chevalier is home to the Village, designed as a large hamlet of about fifteen chalets. Its typical rooftops and facades in wood and stone, is in total harmony with the decor. Inside, the spaciousness and warm decoration of the lounges in the style of family rooms create a holiday location. Everyone can thoroughly devote themselves to their favourite activities, whether in the Snow Garden, on the slopes of the ski domain, in the indoor swimming pool or in the Club Med Spa*.

A highly enjoyable week spoiled at the last minute

Reviewed By D O

The overall ClubMed experience was both fun and relaxing if a little idiocyncratic to those used to more independent travel but we got used to it and eventually thoroughly enjoyed the "show" at the end of the week. The integrated and all inclusive service was just as promised and virtually faultless - removing much of the hassle associated with ski trips (passes, hire shop etc). The staff were friendly and helpful and although the hotel is not new but it is comparable or better to much of the ski accommodation on offer elsewhere. The food and drink served are perfectly adequate (even occasionally superb) and of a surprising variety given the scale of the overall operation (feeding 700 three times a day). Unfortunately one of the adults in our party contracted a serious stomach bug on the last day, which given the "family friendly" buffet did feel slightly inevitable but really spoiled an otherwise delightful holiday. As repeating that illness is not a risk we would accept again this was disappointedly likely to be our only ClubMed holiday but still hope to return to Serre Chevilier again.

Problematic experience with some positive notes

Reviewed By 597PaoloD597

We booked with a website and we discovered that the room was not provided with the bed for our child. We were given for some nights an additional room that I think was unused because it smelt foul and the key continued to demagnetize. This has kind of ruined the feeling of our stay. On the positive side, the hotel position is good and the breakfast is very good.

Okko Grenoble, terrible beds, bathroom and breakfast rooms.

Reviewed By Freedom32427035568

Was in Grenoble for business for one week and staying at the Okko Hotel. Absolutely terrible service, appalling bathroom and breakfast room layout. Bed was severely under maintained with the headboard peeling off and bits of the fabric and sponge falling on your head as your sleep. 3 out of my 5 days stay I had zero water from the shower. Would not recommend the hotel or the employees.

Fantastic week

Expensive holiday but well worth it. Great food, attentive staff and a great range of activities (in addition to skiing). The live music on the terrace in the sun was banging! Awesome atmosphere. Kids activities were phenomenal, as usual. Our kids were never bored and we all made some great memories on and off piste. Staff were all fab; hard working and fun (so well coordinated). Ugo is the best kids entertainer I’ve ever known! Waiting and bar staff were great/ Mehmet had huge attention to detail. Took fleshed to high (and eco) standard every day. Beds could have been softer. All in all, one of the best weeks we’ve had! Thanks to the Chief and all his hard working staff

Great late season ski trip

Good on piste location. Very easy access to slopes. Food good if a bit crowded in the restaurant. Nice room. The major downside is the number of lifts. We had to take 3 lifts to get to breakfast and probably took 20-30 lifts over the course of the day.

Girls ski trip

Great resort! Wonderful delicious food, Staff was exceptional. Tom was my ski instructor and really was so much fun and a great guide! Julia was an awesome bartender. I highly recommend this club med! I would love to go back! My only criticism is the ski rental staff. I am an expert skier that grew up in a family that owned a ski shop. Because I am a 70 year old woman, they gave me an intermediate level ski, even though I paid for the top level! They thought I couldn’t tell the difference! But I definitely could tell! I felt that I was discounted because of my age and the fact I am 70! Perhaps the hotel administration should educate them better!

Delicious food, helpful staff but building needs TLC!

Reviewed By furpuss

Building and rooms Building needs tlc! Several minor faults, eg light switches needing to be fixed firmly to the wall, poor lighting in some areas, wash basin plug blocked with hair, creaky extra bed, no net curtains (shared balcony so lack of privacy), small tears in wallpaper in corridor. One or two of these would not have been an issue, but together gave the impression that the hotel was uncared for. Spa area/swimming pool Not very well laid out as you have to walk across a cool corridor (and down stairs) from the swimming pools to the jacuzzi. Communal showers, but no wash basins or hair dryers. Food Excellent quality and variety. Buffet style. Chefs also cook special courses for you. Very helpful staff, pleasant very large dining room (tented area as extension, surprisingly warm). Sitting area Comfortable furniture, lovely colours. Location A bit out of town, but excellent bus service from the door, plus hotel minibus. Our room had a lovely outlook onto fields: and a herd of deer!

Short but sweet stay at Club Med Valmorel

Reviewed By AnandLondon

Due to a delayed flight, we reached Club Med well past the closing time of the restaurant. Even then, we had a wonderful chef, Guillame, who enquired our dietary preferences, got the chef to cook up a quick veg medley and served it to us. That basically set the tone for the rest of the stay for us with amazing friendly service in all areas of the property. We went with our 6 month old and used the Baby Club Med where our baby was well looked after. Our 10 year old had fun with the junior ski groups while we had a good time with the adult skiers. There was only one disappointment at the end of our journey - our return shuttle to the airport , a taxi came up without a baby seat. While the driver was apologetic, it delayed our journey back to the airport as he had to wait for another driver to bring the car seat. The baby seat wasn;t comfortable and our baby was crying all the way to the airport in Geneva. It wasn't a good experience and I wish that the reception staff had booked the taxi with a baby seat in the first instance. Apart from this, the rest of our journey was wonderful and we will certainly revisit Club Med
