Ayers Rock Scenic FlightsNorthern TerritoryTop 10 Things to See and Do at Uluru

Experience Ayers Rock and its surroundings by Air! Short on time but want to see it all? Not a problem. We offer short flights around Ayers Rock, to full day tours tracking over all the iconic attractions and stopping for the day out at Kings Canyon where you can meet the animals at the station or do one of the walks out at Kings Canyon.

Instead of being ripped off for a 20 minute scenic flight over Uluru, we decided to pay the extra and do a half day Scenic Flight which was much better value. It covered Uluru @ Sunrise, Kata Tjuta, Lake Amadeus, Kings Canyon from air and included a stop at Kings Creek so we could do the creek bed walk at King Canyon. I'm so glad we decided to do this, otherwise it would have taken a whole day to go to Kings Canyon and back via bus.
About the operator: We were picked up, on time by our friendly pilot, he hadn't been working at Ayers rock for all that long but he was exceptionally knowledgeable, a great pilot(a must :P ) and overall just a really nice guy. If you plan on doing this tour (KCE), I would recommend taking your own water & snacks as Kings Creek Station is pricey and the options are limited. If you are thinking about doing this, I personally think sunrise is the best time.
Overall, doing a tour by air, if you can afford it, provides a far different perspective on the area that you don't get from the ground, in particular the Kata Tjuta.
From our initial enquiry to being returned to our hotel, we were very happy with the customer service provided by Ayers Rock Scenic Flights and a special thanks to our pilot Travis.

My wife and I did the 30 minute flight encompassing Uluru and Kata Juta. Safety briefing, all explained, and a video watched. Friendly, amicable staff, and a smooth transition into the aircraft. Pilot of the day was informative with his knowledge of the area, and we had a wonderful experience overall. Would highly recommend to all, this trip. It was a special occasion for us, being our 25th wedding anniversary, and it capped off a great trip nicely!!

We went on two tours with SEIT - the Uluru base walk and Kata-Juta sunrise and hike. Both were incredibly! The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable about the entire area. Both walks were easy, not strenuous at all. Breakfast was great and perfectly suited. Each tour gave us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and the area without the pressure of a large group.

My partner & I spent the most amazing day with our Pilots/Guides Sam & Ben on the Combined Canyon Experience. Sam collected us from our hotel at 9am and after checking us in and carrying out a thorough safety talk we took off on an amazing flight around Uluru, Kata Juta & Lake Amadeus. Sam was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and his enthusiasm for the sites and their history was very much appreciated. Whilst Uluru & Kata Jura are awe inspiring they pale in comparison to Lake Amadeus! Only truly appreciated from the air, it was the highlight of our day. We flew to Kings Creek Station and enjoyed a short break at the cafe before being treated to a helicopter flight over Kings Canyon. Our pilot, Ben, gave us a friendly welcome before completing another thorough safety demonstration and then we were airborne. Ben's professionalism, knowledge & enthusiasm matched Sam's so this ride was just as awe inspiring and enjoyable as the aeroplane. A burger back at the cafe for lunch was a novel experience & then back on the aeroplane for the 30 minute flight back to Ayers Rock Airport.
A huge thank you to Sam, Ben & Ayers Rock Helicopters for a fantastic day.

We transferred from Alice Springs with AAT Kings, the journey is long but our guide was highly informative and amusing and stopped for comfort breaks and photo opportunities along the journey. We then did the sunset tour of Uluru, the Kings Canyon tour, and the Uluru sunrise and Kata Tjuta tour with them. Our guides which included Carl, Stephen, Paul, Dylan and others were all excellent. They imparted their significant knowledge about the history of the region, had great story telling skills, were highly informative and very amusing and entertaining. We would highly recommend all of their tours.

This outlet has a good amount of glass caged exhibits featuring just about every mammal, insect and avian species found in the Central Desert area, each exhibit is numbered and has a corresponding short notation as to what it is and its habitat, there is plenty of larger pictorial stories around the walls which give further insight about the Flora, Fauna and the peoples of this region. At certain times during the day, there are presentations given by some of the locals on "Bush Tucker", again, quite interesting. the shop does painting classes and has a large variety of Aboriginal art and merchadise for sale, well worth a visit.

An early rise in the morning started the odyssey, I was very excited to finally see the Rock (Ulluru) and I wanted to do something different for my visit there. It is advised not to climb the rock but I still was curious on how the top would look like.
I decided to do my 2nd skydive jump and it was a remarkable experience, all the personal, and the trip was something worth of remembering. Definitively something out of the ordinary and if you have the liking for the adrenaline, just make the leap forward and jump off the plane; the view during the sunrise is breath taking and the memory something worthy .
