Science Center phaeno

Marvelling at the fire tornado over six meters high, setting a ball in motion alone through brainwaves and relaxation, or lying as comfortably as a fakir on a bed of nails: over 350 phenomena amaze both young and old at phaeno in Wolfs-burg and kindle enthusiasm for science and technology. There's something to discover for everyone in Germany's unique Experimental Landscape. Families as well as individu-als, groups, or clubs and societies can all experience a wide spectrum of phenomena from the world they live in and find out what's behind them. And the best thing about it: phaeno is a hands-on adventure, where visitors are called upon to take an active part and influence what goes on. There are no prescribed routes through the exhibition, the direction taken is determined by the curiosity of the guests themselves. The path they choose leads them through such interesting fields of discovery as Energy, Mirrors, Vision or Life.

Without a doubt, the Phaeno is the best science, hands-on Museum that I have ever experienced. The place is very large, and it requires a full day or multiple trips to really experience all of the exhibits. Almost all of the exhibits are hands on and interactive. My children love this place. Note-children under the Age of 6 will need an adults help with most of the exhibits.

A Sunday visit allowed for a quiet tour of the museum. There were hundreds of VW cars dating back to its beginning. Nice to learn the history of the car and see it as it progresses through the years. Recommended, especially for vehicle enthusiasts.

This place feels like an exercise in sub optimization. They have a huge, intricate complex with museums and brand buildings and restaurants, but something that obviously cost this much to create should be more entertaining and welcoming for visitors. Parking was confusing, as was finding the entrance and figuring out which tickets to buy and where to go. They need more signs or people to help acclimate first-time visitors.
The various brand buildings were mostly letdowns -- lots of flash and not much substance. Generally, we'd leave the buildings with the feeling that all of that money and effort should have yielded something more significant.
The museum was very good. Not in the same league as the Mercedes or Porsche museums, but quite interesting.
Food and shopping options looked interesting on the surface, but were mostly all hat, no cattle.

It is easy to see this stadium is part of the package in creating sustainable success in football in Wolfsburg. Modern stadium, nothing preventing view to the pitch from every seat. Really good atmosphere, even though not in top 5. Safe experience, indicated also by large number of females and children in the audience. Perfect location, just one kilometer from the main railway station.

Schloss Wolfsburg

Reviewed By Claas C

Schloss Wolfsburg is the castle that gave the city of Wolfsburg its name. In the time it was built it served more of a representative role than that of a protective castle and thus was built a little more for beauty than for pragmatism.
The real attraction of this castle is on one hand the surrounding park area and on the other hand the multitude of events taking place here.
So this is the place to go if you want to spend some time in beautiful surroundings. Also, if there is an event taking place here it is usually worth going to see what it is, many cultural events are free or accessible for a small fee and usually the castle and its surroundings are somehow involved in the events. Personally I have seen some of the best HipHop Concerts on the square inside the castle...
Nevertheless the castle itself is ofd course interesting as well. There are some tours available but they are not very frequent and you should check in advance if they will take place. The museum attached to the castle showcases some of its history as well as the history of the surrounding villages and settlements over the known time periods and is also worth a visit.
To understand the overall history of Wolfsburg, this is a must visit, if you are interested in history also and as said before: try visiting an event (ANY event) here to understand what it must have felt like when this was still the center of life in this area.

This place is fantastic! They have the normal Planetarium offerings, but they also have very interesting and unusual Exhibitions. For instance, my wife and I saw "Queen Heaven" here. It was an hour dedication to music, Videos and history from Queen. The seats are also super comfortable. I almost fell asleep! The Location is a bit remote. There is no public parking lot adjacent to the building.

Just the place to visit on an overcast day to lift the spirits!!Enjoyed the Christmas displays with places to sit amongst the Christmas trees! Wide variety of shops offering good prices and many sale items. Clean washroom facilities and baby change room. Coffee shops. Well known brand name shops as well as smaller stores all offering good merchandise. Close to train station as well as a good bus service. Nice place to visit if you are a shopper and are happy to spend a few hours looking through the shops.
