We stayed 3 nights in pro hides in the forest and on the marshland. It is a nice (about 1,5 km) walk through the forest to the hides. One man hides are excellent for taking low level photos. There were lots of bears with cubs too, it was a great experience to watch them playing and climbing up the trees. Friendly staff and great accomodation with good food.

The Silent People

The crowd of almost thousand figures that make up the Silent People suddenly emerges before the passing motorist like some great stroke of magic. In the morning with light behind them, this motionless army appears morose, even menacing. However, as the day progresses their countenance brightens up and with the setting of the sun they present a distincly jolly and colourful picture. When the wind blows their straw hair and clothes begin to flap rhythmically, it is as if they had suddenly sprung into life.

It´s a really ordinary place to travel. There are lots of nice souvenirs to by in the Niitty - Kahvila (Cafeteria) shop. You might want to change one of Your favorite - clothe with Your own clothe, so please remember to take an extra clothing especially for the silent people! The fire made coffee and the pancakes are really delicious - and they are of course served on a wooden plate with the Finnish strawberry jelly - You cannot miss this place! And like this peace of art says - please take Your time, enjoy the special field view and enjoy the silent atmosphere.
