We did not realize that this place was so expensive. It had been advertised as a great place to bring the family. It is beautiful but way too expensive for the average family. We wound up just buying food to feed the animals in the petting zoo which was fun.

French Lick West Baden Museum

The French Lick West Baden Museum is located in downtown French Lick in a newly refurbished historic building between Highway 56 and Maple Street. Look for the Hagenbeck-Wallace circus banners and the gold figure of Pluto in the window - not to mention our logo is our sign.

A little difficult to find as it is more in the car park than on the street but yet another enjoyable way to find out the history of French Lick. Goes to show that a lot of people can be convinced of the merits of something that just is not the case. So much for the benefits of a laxative! Also incredible to discover the size of the travelling circus that called this place home. The models were stunning and the history of the two hotels fascinating.

Took my kids (ages 9 and 10) to Paoli this past weekend to ski for their first time. Easy time parking, getting passes, and equipment. The staff were all very helpful. Lessons every hour on the hour. Our instructor (Ron) was excellent... very patient and focused on the areas the kids needed to improve on. The snow is manmade so not as fluffy as the real stuff, but adequate to learn on. Only complaints are that there are some very icy patches especially toward the bottom of the slopes. The lodge is very large, but I would have hoped it would have been warmer (it was ~ 9 degrees outside). Pretty extensive cafeteria with prices somewhat reasonable ($4 per large slice of pizza). Overall I highly recommend for beginners. Great place to learn.

I went to French Lick to check it out as was recommended to me. Interesting architecture. Casino was on the small side and allowed smoking in main area. non-smoking area was small with older slots as is typical . be aware that GPS is not reliable during flood times, kept getting sent to areas where roads were flooded and impassable. took over an hour and a friendly native to finally get out to the main road.

Lark Valley Zip Lines

Reviewed By brenda n - Saint Louis, Missouri

We stay at the Wilstem Ranch for a long weekend in early August which we found a great Groupon deal for Wilstem Ranch and Lark Valley Zipline. We ziplined at the Lark Valley which had awesome views of the country side and had 10 ziplines. The first couple lines were not as long however got longer and faster as you progress up, the longest line is 1200 feet. You ziplined across the fields and lakes and race with your partner across the fields:) There is a floating bridge you will have to cross over to get to the next line and end with a rock climbing wall if you like to climb it. It was a blast!!!

For Lark Valley Zipline staff, we enjoyed swinging the lines while ziplining and rocking the floating bridge while we were on there. However we did observed not everyone enjoyed that as a few people in our group almost had a panic attack so do watch out for that!

Thank you Tommy and Bob for the awesome ziplining fun! We will be back!!!

French Lick West Baden Indoor Karting

Reviewed By ANR_78 - Marion, Illinois

We stopped in to kill some time since we were running out of things to do in F/L. We bought some arcade tokens (don't expect to get any deals like at a Chuck E Cheese) and let the 7-year-old ride the indoor go carts. There were not many arcade games but the ones that were there all seemed to be working so that was a plus. The go cart track for small kids was small and round and the carts were slow. That might be fine for a 5-year-old but you can tell the older ones are only wishing to be on the larger track. The large track was okay sized for indoors but was still probably geared towards younger teens rather than a 16 or 17 year old.

I would not go back again but after 3 days in French Lick you start looking for stuff to do...

I was trying to use a gift card that I purchased for a massage. My appointment was scheduled for 3 pm, so I arrived at 2:45 to fill out paperwork. I was still sitting in the waiting area at 3:15, so I told the receptionist that I would need to reschedule, and that I would contact them because I was frustrated at the time. I rescheduled online for a 1:30 appointment. On my drive to the spa, I received a call from the receptionist telling me that my gift card balance was applied to my "cancelled" appointment, and they didn't want me to get there and find that out. After a very frustrating phone call, I was told that I could speak with the receptionists boss. I told her to have her call me, because I wouldn't know when she was available. That was 8 hours ago, and I still haven't received a call. Waste of money, time, and gas!!!

When my husband first said we were headed to French Lick Indiana on our recent getaway I thought he had lost his mind. So I Googled it to see what was around and found some interesting things but my biggest surprise was Big Splash Adventure's at the hotel we were staying.
Hours of fun and a great thing to do with kids! And the adults can even grab an adult beverage if they're so inclined. Will return in the summer!
